Guest guest
Sir, Throwing a copper coin or a flower into a ganda nala for 43 days is a well known remedy for venus in the 8th house. But I have seen some astrologers suggesting a different remedy also. They suggest that a black cow be fed 8 atte ke pede on a Sunday. If so, what could be the logic of this upaya ? with respect Girish Raheja
Guest guest
Respected Raheja ji, Yes, you are right throwing a copper coin or a flower in a ganda nala is one of the upaya suggested for Venus placed in the 8th house. The 8th house signifies a ganda nala where throwing a copper coin [sun] or a flower [mercury] will help it : ‘rahu ke gande naale se hi madad payega jis mein tamba [ sooraj] ya phool [budh] ka dalana mubarik hoga [ page 155, 1942 urdu ed ] The Lal Kitab suggests: gau sewa ya daan se sab kuchh ummda ho [ page 155,1942ed]. Feeding a cow is gau sewa. Moreover it is difficult to find an open sewage drain in big cities to throw a flower in. Copper coins are a rare commodity any way. Therefore feeding a cow with aate ke pede [flour balls] is a very convenient upaya. In the upaya you have talked about, aate ka peda [ wheat flour balls ] also signify the sun , Sunday the day suggested also belongs to the sun; the number 8 signifies the 8th house. But these pede [flour balls] should be fed to a black coloured cow. A venus placed in the darkness of the house of death [ 8th house] becomes a syaah [dark] cow. Here by offering the karak objects of the Sun [ flour balls] to the karak object of Venus in the 8th house [ a dark cow] , the effort seems to be to add luster and shine to Venus, which the Venus would have lost by being in the house of death. Guest guest
Respected Dr Kursija ji, Neither I in my reply nor the book, suggests that the Sun signifies the 8th house. The book does suggest throwing Tamba in ganda nala. While mentioning Tamba the book itself has clarified it to signify the sun. As you have mentioned that a copper wire too might serve the purpose, I have to add that a copper coin signifies the sun in more than one form. It is made of copper signifying the sun ; it is round in the shape of the sun; and bears a State emblem signifying authority or Rajyadhikar; in other words royalty. Therefore a copper coin would represent the Sun far more closely than a copper wire. You have also suggested that a karak object of Venus can be offered at a temple. Yes, it can be. But a karak object of a planet is offered at a temple to make the planet swear in the presence of God that it will behave and not act malefic or belligerent. But to our mind the upaya suggested of throwing copper coin or a flower [ mercury ] appears to be an exercise in strengthening the Venus, which in my reply I had explained as restoring the shine and the luster of the Venus which seems to have been affected by its being in the 8th house. Guest guest
Respected Dr. Kursija ji, We couldn’t have agreed more when you said: “We should see the logic behind the upaya not insist on what is written in the book.â€. We as a group have been consistent in our approach that before devising an upaya we should look into the logic of it. If you had gone through the articles stored in the file section you will realize that we have been searching for rationale behind every word said in the book. Now let us understand the rationale behind the upaya of throwing copper into a ganda nala. Firstly the upaya is aimed at the ganda nala of Rahu because the Book says “ rahu ke gande nale se hi madad payega’. Since the upaya is aimed at the 8th house represented by ganda nala of Rahu and not aimed at the 8th house in general, the role of Mars as a significator of the 8th house doesn’t come into play. Secondly, copper has been used signifying the Sun and not the Mars. The Book makes it absolutely clear by mentioning the word ‘sun’ in bracket after the word tamba. To our mind the karak of the sun has been used to eliminate the dhuan of Rahu because in another context of the venus and the sun the Book says : madad nar grah sab se uttam, chamak ravi khud deta ho rahu dhuan jab teve hatataa, lekh shukra sab barhta ho It was in this context I had said that the sun will help eradicating the dhuan of rahu so that the Venus, placed in the 8th house, regains its luster and brightness. Finally we definitely agree with you, and have said so in my reply, that copper coins are a rarity and we need to find other alternatives keeping in mind the contemporary conditions. With regards and respect, Varun Trivedi , "S.C. Kursija" <sckursija wrote:>> Respected Varun Trivedi ji,> I intend to say that Mars is the significator of 8th house as 8th sign of Kalaprusha is Bhirshich whose lord s Mars. The time has changed and copper coins are a rare item.So we should not iinsist on copper coin and do the upaya of Mars. Guest guest
Respected Mahajan ji, An excellent insight indeed. Thank you for bringing to the notice the interpretation based on the masnuyee component. Yes you are absolutely right that the rahu component of venus placed in the rahu ka ganda nala would get strengthened and cloud the venus in smoke. Thank you once again for a brilliant contribution.
