Respected experts,I dig out the old postings and found that a handpump or a submersible can be used as an alternative for a well. But this holds true only for the remedies where one have to use that water. What alternative can be used for the remedies, where dropping some objects is suggested. Like dropping haldi ki ganth in a well. we can't drop an object in a handpump or a submersible.regards,--Pradeep.--- On Thu, 5/21/09, pradeep yadav <inboxpradeep wrote:pradeep yadav <inboxpradeepAlternate for kua Date: Thursday, May 21, 2009, 9:38 PMRespected experts,There are some remedies in lal kitab in which the karak wastu need to be dropped in a well. Can a pond(or some big pit with rainy/river water accumulated in it) be a substitute for a well. In some areas(like himachal and rajasthan) it is very difficult to find out a well. Please shed some light on this, why it can be or can not be. If not then what can be the substitute, as I mentioned it is almost impossible to find a well in some areas. Please forgive me if my question is very basic, but I could not establish a logic for this substitution. regards,--Pradeep.

Respected Pradeep ji,

Any pond or talaab which does not go dry through out the entire year can be used

as an alternative for a well.

A well is a water reservoir where the major part of water comes from under

ground springs [ chashme ka paani ]. The same is true of pond/taalab which are

perinnial i.e. the water doesn't dry up even in summers. Such ponds also get a

part of water from under ground springs. Hence such ponds/taalab can be used as

an alternative to a well.

Respected Pradeep ji,

You are right. A handpump or a submersible can not, for technical reasons, be

used as an alternative for a well.
