Respected LK Astrlogers ,

Why it is considered to be inauspicious to drink alcohol during Navratra or on

Tuesdays? What are the ill effects from the planetary point of view? I have even

seen that not only this people generally avoid non veg also , does this really

has some significance with planets ?

Respected Arvind ji,

People do not drink or eat meat or indulge in sex during navratra or pitri

paksha because of religious piety. They want to observe this period with all

religious sincerity through abstaining.

Not drinking or eating meat on Tuesdays is once again a matter of religious

piety for most of the people.

But it has an astrological significance also. Drinking and eating meat are

activities related to Saturn [malefic]. It is not advisable to confront Saturn

and Mars [Tuesday]. Our forefathers must have seen through this and prohibited

such malefic Saturn activities on a Tuesday.

Varun Trivedi

Respected Varun jee ,

Thanks a lot for such a nice explanation. In crux , if any one is taking alcohol

or meat it has to do with Saturn as I have read in one of your answer that

Saturn is such a god that when it punishes it takes every thing .

Respected Arvind ji,

Yes, one should always try to keep his Saturn appeased by not indulging in

non-virtuous acts like drinking liquor, eating meat & fish, telling a lie,

giving false evidence, promiscuous life style, not respecting brothers of the

father, and so on.

The word virtuous is culture senstive. In the west eating meat is not considered

as non-virtuous. For that matter eating fish in Bengal is not considered as

non-virtuous.

Therefore so long as a person is leading a moral and virtuous life in his

cultural and religious context, he will keep his Saturn appeased and benefic.

Dear Varun ji,There are some KALAKARS who post such lists of articles on net.Regarding Budh no 10 NATURE OF TENDENCY of planet has been described as " Zahira ho to bahan magar jab uska dil chahe aurat bab baithe aur phir behan ban jaye, poori dhokebaaz "

There are many such references in lalkitab where tendency of planet is being explained in such words.I am SHOCKED that TEWE KI DARUSTI USTAADS without even slightest hesitation point towards illicit relations.

If the native is female then all the more.Kindly imagine the condition of native's mind upon asking such query. How devastating such interpretations could be?.Here the context of Mercury 10 came up so i am sticking to it only, Otherwise a whole list is there.

They don't even know as to where the differentiating line between the native's tendency and planet's tendency exists.RegardsKulbir Bains. On Tue, Mar 23, 2010 at 5:08 PM, Prince Raj <moodyboyz wrote:

Dear Kulbir bhai,

I thank you for having brought to notice how the Nature of a planet can be

misinterpreted as the Nature of the Native.

You are right, it can cause havoc.

Therefore the students of the Lal Kitab have to be extra careful while reading

the book and be able to discern this subtle but crucial difference.

Respected Varun Jee ,

I have also read somewhere that even gifting a wine or taking a wine as a gift

can affect you much in terms of Saturn. So my question is: If you have a malefic

Saturn then you should gift wine, and if you have benefic Saturn never accept

wine as a gift. Please can you throw some light?

Dear Arvind ji, wine; Alcoholwould be a better word is not confined toSaturn'splacement/nature alone. For Rahu 6 in natal or varshphal. Accepting gift ofalcoholin a green coloured bottle spells trouble, hence should be avoided.

Generally it reaches the native.so before deciding about gifting or accepting ant article as a remedial measure; all planetary positions should be observed, instead of relying on a single planet.Regards

Respected Varun ji,

Wine represent the neech saturn. Consuming wine (or establishing in

house) turn the saturn malefic. So would it be OK to accept wine for a

person having benific saturn ?
