Guest guest
Dear Sri Rangarajan and friends. There has been an over kill on Sat-Moo Dosha. In lighter vein, recently with Moon in Virgo and Saturn in cancer, there was a relationship, the collective minds went for a spin, for taste of pickles, it was amavasya. No Wonder. I think we should give PP a brief rest and switch to something different.I suggest studying the Ascendant for the simple reason, the Lagna tells us the personality of the individual thru a significator study.Add Moon and we can understand how individuals react to similar situations. The study of the person in true perspective will be the fulcrum around which the life pattern revolves. If we can agree to this suggestion, we shall achieve two things concurrently.a) Study Saddam Hussain's personality,DOB etc available. b)Diver the attention to more creative pursuit. Your comments please. Regards, Satish , " Rangarajan Krishnamoorthy " <ranga@m...> wrote: > Dear Punit, > I certainly did not mean to belittle your contribution. Guest guest
Dear Satish and Friends, I know that textbook astrology talks about personality being connected with the Ascendant. I can't agree with this. As Fagan pointed out " It is not uncommon to find several members of a family born under the rising of the same constellation, but apart from a marked similarity, in appearance they do differ completely from one another. Character and inclination come under the domination of the Sun, the emotions and moods under that of the Moon " . A person can have a great character ie sound values, appearance, charisma, etc, but may have violent mood swings in response to outside stimuli. So whilst the Sun for character is the bedrock of personality, it is conditioned by the emotions which is an attribute of the Moon (and Uranus for intellectual excitement and Neptune for emotional excitement - if connected to the lights). Personality as we all know can change with the response to the emotions; however the natal Ascendant is unchanging (unless you believe that the Ascendant changes when you relocate). So it seems highly unlikely that the Ascendant could indicate the personality which fluctuates in response to outside influences. The Ascendant is a result of the heavenly bodies at a particular place and a particular time. ie it has a physical relationship which suggests that the Ascendant relates to our physical make up - not personality. Guest guest
Daer Ron, Thank you for your kind response.I am happy you have a different opinion on two counts. 1 Personality of Individual, not dependant on ascendant alonebut also dependant on Sun and Moon. 2. Relocation from place of birth doesnot change the individual's ascendant characteristic. In judging an individual, personality,if you will, we examine the total characteristics. It is " forbidden " to discuss the vedic astrology, however, in VA we examine the Ascendant,Sun Lagna,Moon Lagna. This in agggregate terms gives a full picture of an individual. In KP we do not examine the matter in this fashion,as I believe. We see the Asc.sign, star and finally sublord or for new trend even the sub- sub.The relationship of planets with other bhavas is an endeavour to find the links, and the fulfillment of various activities like education marriage, career etc etc. My purpose was to deflect the subject from PP to a different one,i.e. study of the individual.I thought it will help myself in understanding the individual, why he does, the way he does. There is a tendency to be judgemental about others ,when we need to know ourselves better. This is purely my holistic view. 2.I was always curious to know ,does relocation, say from India To USA, change the individual's response mechanism.Logically it should and does as I have observed in my career of over 3 decades, when I. travelled frequently around the globe, meeting fellow Indians.. Take my own case, I should have been born in Mumbai,in 1942,but there was World War11 in progress. For logistic purposes,2 months before my birth,my mother moved to East coast,1350 kms away, where I was born. Few months later,I came back to Mumbai. There is 38 min+ time difference(82-13 minus 72-50.between both the places. The purists would say, wherever you take your first breath, that place becomes your birth place, even if you stayed only for a day.I was relocated second time because Japanese dropped a bomb one day before I was born. Yor considered view, would help. Other members are welcome/requested to share their views. Guest guest
Dear Satishji, If we take a purely astrological or fatalistic view point, then relocation should also be indicated in the horoscope of any indivisual, and the periods running would decide if that is good or bad [beneficial or harmful] to that indiviual concerned. That way getting relocated for change of fate may not be realistic. Relocation and change of fate should be simultaneous events and could be seen in the chart.
