Guest guest
Dear Members, Vimshottari Dasa is taken to have 120 years duration. If a person lives for 130 years (rare, but there are cases) how do you calculate the Dasa beyond 120 years? Can we assume that the cycle starts once again and the Dasa at birth will start to operate after 120? Regards, Rangarajan
Guest guest
Rangarajan ji, IMHO all dasas are used in cycle only so the Vimshottari dasa should start once again after 120 years. Also it is how it is used in mundane astrology. In fact Vimshottari dasa has nothing to do with the human age. It can applied to so many different scenarios. Thanks & Regards, Punit Pandey On 9/24/05, Rangarajan Krishnamoorthy <ranga wrote: Dear Members,Vimshottari Dasa is taken to have 120 years duration. Guest guest
Yes. This is my supposition, as the Dasa are cyclic.Rangarajan Krishnamoorthy <ranga wrote: Dear Members,Vimshottari Dasa is taken to have 120 years duration. Guest guest
Dears Punit & Rangarajan, Allow me to refer you both,to a truly enlghtening research article by the late Pt.K.R.Kar :"In Quest Of Origin Of Parasara's Vimshottari Dasa-Period...", K.P. & Astrology Annual,2004,Pp 63-70... The rationale for how the different durations of the dasa of a planet for the years ear-marked for that particular planet is,in my opinion, nicely and fairly convincingly discussed... Allow me to suggest that researchers like Mr.Rangarajan et al, could well base further and deeper research on this article...and take off from where the untimely death of Pt.Kar,had left us all with... With best wishes, L.Y.Rao. GOOD LUCK !Rangarajan Krishnamoorthy <ranga wrote: Dear Punit,Thanks a lot for the clarification.Regards,Rangarajan , Punit Pandey <punitp@g...> wrote:> Rangarajan ji,> IMHO all dasas are used in cycle only so the Vimshottari dasa should start> once again after 120 years.
