As of today, it has twenty-five members. That's what I call growth! I'm hoping that after this weekend those who are inclined to do so will introduce themselves, or start discussions or ask questions. As for me, I've been into astrology for about eleven years. I resisted astrology until a) I learned that other esoteric disciplines I'd previously scoffed at had some validity after all, and b) a friend who just happened to be a Sidereal astrologer turned me on to it, first, by his accurate interpretations of charts from people I knew that he'd never met (gave him their birth data to test him), and second, his use of the Sidereal zodiac. Like other astrology skeptics, I too found the discrepancy between " signs " and the constellations to be, well, at least a little amusing. For more personal data, I'm a former Air Force officer who now works for a security company. I live near Pittsburgh, I've just turned 45 (the sun was shining on my way to work at the moment of my Solar Return!), and, due to the wear and tear on my printer from people who want free horoscopes, I'm considering turning professional. If you looked at it on teh western wheel you would see one heck of a stellium in the fourth house....scorpio/scorpio/scorpio...etc. But by looking at it in the Vedic sense of the word, Libra makes much more sense. I did keep my Gemini moon (figures) Astrology has a lot to learn when all the different kinds are looked at, I love the midpoints, and I am now looking at the uranians with a midpoint eye. We've managed to rectify my chart down to the second...So I guess I am learning... I belive the two main functions of Astrology are : 1) it give us the begining of a Language to discuss the inarticulate - & 2) it nurtures and stimulates the intuitive qualities of the mind .
