I'm not sure I follow you here. When converting someone's Tropical longitudes to Sidereal, you use the SVP for that person's birthday. Use the _current_ SVP for figuring out what their transits are, Solar Returns, etc. Most Tropical ephemerides don't include the SVP (the Holy Tropical Church tries to ignore precession, hoping it will go away). Therefore, you need to either get a Sidereal ephemeris (sadly, none are in print for years before 1976), or set your astrology software on Sidereal. Do NOT buy astrology software that doesn't allow a Sidereal Zodiac option! Also, _American Astrology_ carries the month's SVP and Sidereal Ingresses, gods bless 'em. > Thanks for responding. It moves one degree every 72 years. You're welcome. By amazing coincidence, there are 72 degrees of arc between the points of a regular pentagram, and some divide the Zodiac into 72 decans. Guest guest
When you take the difference between Tropical and Sidereal you do get the SVP, but if you use the SVP at the first of every month in the ephemeris you get a different chart than the other two. Thanks for responding. It moves one degree every 72 years. I would be interested in what others have to say about this. I also you the lunar parallax, which can cause planets to change signs if they are at the very end of a sign, even in Sidereal. - aumgn93 Friday, June 09, 2000 7:04 AM Re: SVP, which is now 5'Pi15'29 I think. Guest guest
Also, You can enter the SVP under Solar Fire Preferences: User defined and then when you go to " new " chart just scroll down to the new entry at the very bottom. It moves about a second every few days. - aumgn93 Friday, June 09, 2000 7:04 AM Re: SVP, which is now 5'Pi15'29 I think. Hello, everyone. Guest guest
The American Ephemeris for the 20th Century by Neil F. Michelsen does include the SVP for each month. But, like I say I started using the Lunar parallax and it can make a difference for planets in the last degree of a sign. I've never heard of this technique. Did you read about it in a book, hear about it from a friend, or decide to try it yourself? What's the theory behind it? What problems does it solve? This is interesting. Later, Kevin/Baraka
