I know one person who has Sun in Aries,Moon in Scorpio and MC in Taurus.Well,he used to think himself as a Taurus. Actually most of his time he is behaving as a Taurus.He is a matter-of fact,down-to earth type of person,reliable,steady,little shy and cautious in dealings with others.One could state: a typical Taurus.The whole week he is more or less influenced by this Taurus energy. At the end of the week he will get frustrated with this down to earth mentality because his very nature is Aries. How he is solving the problem. Going to a Bub ,taking a drink or two. In half an hour his real nature will bloom. There is no hint of hesitation,shyness,timidity.He is joyful,humorous,lively,bold and passionate. the question is,could he express Aries-Symptoms at all if he did not had Aries -nature on the bottom. All over the world people relax with alcohol but do everybody express Aries-Sypmtoms if there is no resourse for that. The Sun sign is our basic nature,our real self.But when it is covered with opposite type of signs it may be not so easily regocnisized. My both parents are Aquarius and people take them very different natures. But my father is covered by two introvert feminine signs(moon in virgo,MC in Scorpio) whereas my mother`s Aquarius is potented with moon in gemini. Still the real basic nature both of them is Aquarius. How ? one has just to study carefully the basic symptoms of different signs.
