Guest guest
I'm using a program for the Mac OS called Kairon and I'm running into a problem with solar returns. I'm noticing that if I project charts for various years the times vary widely. The time I am looking at is 5:30pm on 21 Jan 1982, as the years go by sometimes it will be early on the 22nd, sometimes on the 20th. Shouldn't a solar return constantly move in one direction? Is this possibly the work of the Tropical zodiac in disguise? Or, am I just not doing a solar return properly? Aside from that, I'm curious if anyone in the group knows of any good Mac software for creating charts. I have Windows, but it's horribly slow and I would prefer to stick with the Mac. Thank you all, have a good week. Guest guest
Ryan, I could be wrong about this, but because of leap years, the time for any solar return will jump around. The reason is that without leap years, our calendar year is actually a little bit shorter than the time it takes for the sun to make a full cycle. So the time will keep moving forward until a leap year, when it jumps backwards. In sidereal astrology, of course, there is also a very gradual move forward, due to the procession of the equinoxes, but this is very slight. I am relatively new to sidereal astrology, but I like it. I have been studying Vedic astrology with David Frawley. I am interested in a possible reintegration of Vedic and Western methods. Anyone want to start a conversation on this? I am also looking for good astrological software for the Mac, Vedic or Western. Let me know what you find! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ David Ray Woodstock, NY 12498 bluerodent ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ----Original Message Follows---- RC Weal <pubman Solar returns, and astrology programs Mon, 24 Sep 2001 00:13:39 -0700 I'm using a program for the Mac OS called Kairon and I'm running into a problem with solar returns.
