Guest guest
Amy, the reason that many Vedic astrologers don't use Uranus, Neptune and Pluto is that the astrology of India is very tradition bound. Everyone still studies the ancient texts which never mention Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. So modern Indian astrologers don't feel they are needed. They feel that the use of the newly discoverd planets corrupts the perfect ancient system. However, many astrologers in the west and in India as well (including myself) who use the Indian system to include the planets beyond Saturn. They generally are not used as house rulers, however. Guest guest
I have a hypothesis that the new outer planets are largely conceptual representations of the three doshas. Uranus is vata, Neptune is kapha, and Pluto is pitta. They seem accessary to me. The Nine Lord of Time are so complete already. But 9+3=12, which is the number of the zodiac. And they exist to some extent, though I've never seen them directly. I like focusing on the 7 visible planets and 2 invisible planets, but not just because it is the traditional way. I am not a traditional person, but I find that simplifying things helps me to focus and learn. I don't have to build mental constructs about things I don't have direct experience with. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ David Ray Woodstock, NY 12498 bluerodent ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ----Original Message Follows---- Terrie <eastwest Uranus, Neptune, Pluto Sun, 21 Oct 2001 19:18:19 -0700 Amy, the reason that many Vedic astrologers don't use Uranus, Neptune and Pluto is that the astrology of India is very tradition bound. Guest guest
Edgar Cayce says we should use the Persian (vedic) system because it is more accurate, and that we SHOULD include the outer planets. Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto encompass Psychic, Mysticism, and Consciousness, respectively. Cayce says it is symbolic that we have only recently discovered these planets, because it is only recently that we are becoming more aware and conscious of these areas of ourselves.
