Guest guest
I hope the silence in this group doesn't mean that people are losing interest in sidereal astrology. I've lurked here for months and read all the messages that come in, but have only posted once or twice (since I'm such a novice and want to learn more before I say anything). I've also gone through all the messages in the archives; there are so great posts there. Btw, Therese, I love reading your messages and appreciate the efforts you put into making sidereal astrology more scientific and respectable. Here is something I'm wondering about. Did you all become interested in sidereal astrology simply because tropical astrology doesn't really go by the stars and you prefer an astrology that did? or did any of you, like me, find that tropical astrology seems kind of inaccurate or contradictory with regards to personality/psychology, even before you realized that it didn't go by the constellations? Guest guest
Hi Elizabeth, Thanks for your kind words! I'm trying to remember why I began studying sidereal astrology. It was in the 70s, and there was an active sidereal group in the San Francisco Bay area. All I remember is that I had some dreams telling me that the astrology I was using (I was counseling with Tropical astrology, working on an M.A. counseling degree at San Francisco State U.) was--and my dream was very explicit, pardon the language " so much sh..t. " I also remember a dream where I was in a big room with lots of windows facing east (refers to India which has always used the sidereal zodiac). But the windows were partly cloudy (meant that there's a lot of cleaning up to do even with sidereal astrology). Then I began studying sidereal charts, went through the western sidereal system, then studied Indian astrology and now I sort of use my own sidereal mix, not wholly western nor wholly Indian. But definitely sidereal. I will soon have some articles on sign basics posted on the internet. I'll post a link here when they're up. There is also some Tropical/Sidereal discussion (which I'm involved in) on the link below. PoliticalAstrology/ There are an awful lot of posts on the Political list, often more than 700 per month, so the list takes some wading through to find the posts you want to read. Stay around! I hope there will be some interesting discussions on this list, but I've noted that most western siderealists seem to be men of few words. And most western siderealists ARE men! Guest guest
Hi Elizabeth, I think that strong Saturns go into tropical astrology. Very strong Saturns into medieval. But Sidereal requires a Uranus as well as Saturn. Sidereal definitely requires that Uranian ray. In any case it finds you. You don't have to go looking for it. imo... Guest guest
Therese, thanks for posting the link to the Political Astrology group! I joined a couple of days ago and have been following the discussion on sidereal-tropical signs, jupiter-saturn, etc. I'm enjoying the discussion very much even though -- as usual -- there's a lot that I still don't understand. elisabeth ____________________ Post your free ad now! http://personals..ca

I'm happy that you joined that group, Elizabeth, and happy that they are allowing discussions about the zodiac. Some of the posts are worth saving, and if you don't understand them now, they might be helpful later. I copy posts from the board about political topics that I don't know much about. I guess we'll be learning until the day we die! It looks like there might be a discussion of Tropical and Sidereal Ingress charts on the Political list soon. I have never seen such an active list! 700 to 1000 messages a month. For members of this list, if there are interesting discussions about Ingress charts that apply to the sidereal zodiac, I'll try to copy them here. I'm in the habit of saving posts from this sidereal list and have made a note of the message #s of the posts at Political Astrology that I know I would want to refer back to in the future (since I read the messages at the site; there are just too many emails and I don't want to let them flood my inbox). I'm surprised that people on that list are willing to discuss sidereal. A few months ago I have hinted at it before on other lists (not sidereal astrology), and no one was interested. There are so few places where one can discuss this western sidereal astrology and not enough sites on the web dedicated to it. I'll be looking forward to visiting your site when you have it up. elisabeth
