Guest guest
>Are you saying that siderealists don't have a >knowledge of different astrological systems? this is >silly... I'm saying that they show little interest in investigating them, such as the Indian navamsa and Lahiri ayanamsa. >We consider ourselves siderealists and this is a >siderealist group. We are not into navamsa charts and >we are not into lahiri... We avoid arguing the tenets >of these ideas because to us they are not worth the >exercise... The navamsa and the Lahiri ayanamsa aren't tenets or ideas. They're the mathematics of constructing a horoscope. You just basically confirmed what I suggested. You stay within your own system. This is true of most astrologers. It's like a program I saw on TV a while ago. The Egyptian scholars who study the pyramids and sphinx swear that the great sphinx was constructed only a few thousand years ago. Certain geologists say this can't be true because there are water worn patterns on the sphinx that indicate it has to be much older, up to 10,000 years old. Each specialist stays within the area he was trained in and can't see the possibilities in another view. We're not so different from the scientists! > Understand that not everyone wants to pursue it the way you do. You mean by really getting into research? That's true. >I'm not interested in evaluating hundreds of charts... >I like financial applications.. Jack likes sports and >gambling applications.. Bert is a hedonist and Chris >is an artist... My presumption is that Dark*Star is a >comedian though we have not been properly introduced. The view that each astrologer should pursue his or her own interests (only) is rather insular. There's nothing wrong with that except that it gives very little to the astrological community. Personal interests are where most astrologers are coming from including Tropical astrologers. So it seems to me that you and others should welcome the few of us who do try to find constants among groups of similar charts. It's a view geared toward helping astrology in general. >Would you believe that Jesus Christ was a Gemini? Mary Summer Rain, an American visionary, has said so. >I suggest that we do Dubya... >Do you agree? >Transiting Pluto is about to conjunct his Novenic Moon >and ASCendant. I'll dubya check but I think that's >correct. Do you mean we should be looking at current transits as well as Dubya's solar return? Do you have a perdiction to make based on the transit of Pluto to the novenic Moon? I'm very interested in what you would have to say about his solar return chart for this year. >> Why couldn't they list it themselves? >anyway your point is? To post what Fagan said about sign categories--the schema of signs like polarity, the elements, etc. >Guess it would depend on which zodiac you are using? >Am I to presume that you utilize both zodiacs at once? No, I don't use the Tropical zodiac at all. The tropical qualities associated with air belong to the Taurus triad in the sidereal zodiac. Mental qualities. Check it out. People with prominent stelliums in Taurus-Virgo-Capricorn will generally work in the writing or editing business, read and study a lot, like to discuss theories, etc. Maybe they're teachers or scholars, etc. These are the communication signs. >> Can you give an example of how one of the zodiacal >> signs is changing its meaning? >> > >Actually... I've already given you too much to chew >on. Besides I thought you knew that already. I have no idea what's meant by signs 'changing their meaning.' I really don't. >What's your point? That we now have the tools to separate fact from fiction. >That's it?.... How do you calculate solar or lunar returns? The same way you do with a different ayanamsa. Do you calculate PSSR? Quotidians? >lunar phase returns? Capsolar? Mundoscope? No, this is all too much math for me. I have very little interest in when events happen, since not many events happen in my own life. I mainly want to know the tone of the year or month, not exactly when something happens. I calculate the ennead sometimes because that seems to have more to do with events than the lunar return. The great majority of western siderealists are men. This is because terms like PSSR, Quotidian, Capsolar ingress tend to fry female brains. (Apologies to any women siderealists out there whose routinely work with these charts.) As far as I know there are no current publications that describe how these charts relate to current people and events. Once in a while there will be an article by Ken Bowser published somewhere. Western sidereal astrology tends to be highly technical. It deals largely with math. I do believe that the mundoscope is the chart to use for mundane events and weather. But right now I don't have a Windows program that calculates that chart. And I leave those events to astrologers who routinely work with the mundane astrology. I feel that trying to lay a foundation for astrology is more important. That's where my insterests are. But if there were articles on the use of the charts and progressions you mentioned, I'd certainly study them to learn what they had to offer. So on with Dubya. What do you predict from the coming Pluto to Novien transit and whatever other parts of his chart you want to discuss? The present solar return? You say that siderealists are generous in sharing what they know, so I for one am very interested in your predictions, Blessings, Therese
