Hi Therese,

1. From the Main Screen go to Chart / Return & Ingress option OR press F5

for a shortcut.

2. In the Returns-window, fill the fields with appropriate dates,

coordinates and options.

3. From Chart Type to Generate-window, choose Advanced & Ingress, then press

Options...

4. In Advanced Return Selections write 4 (for 4th Harmonic) in the Return

The Sun To Harmonic -window. Specifying 4th Harmonic you will get

quarti-returns and all its multipliers (demi- and whole cycle returns). If

you specify 2nd Harmonic, you'll only get demi- and whole cycle returns. You

can also specify the number of return charts you want to get calculated on

the right side of this page. The starting date for calculations is

determined by the date specified in the Returns page and by the Current /

Nearest / Next Return options.

There is no straightforward way to do this. One trick to accomplish this

would be to calculate first one ingress chart, say a CapSolar, and then let

SF calculate next eleven 12th Harmonic Solar Returns to this chart in the

way oultlined above. I tried this, and it seems to work. Saves at least some

time and effort...:)

Thanks for your reply, Risto. I followed your instructions, just as I tried

to follow the PDF instructions, but I'm getting charts for the ingress of

the Sun into Taurus, Leo and Scorpio. I had entered the Aquarius ingress

data into the input screen.

Maybe the problem is with the base chart. What should I have as the base

chart? There must be some little detail I'm missing?

Also, I couldn't get the already calculated base ingress chart into the

input screen without re-typing the data.

O.K., that worked, but all the charts have the same name: " Aquarius ingress

of the sun. " What's the best way to rename these charts? Also, when I do a

base return, I can't figure out how to give it the name I want. The name

seems to be given automatically.

Leo's K ingress looks extremely stressful, especially for California (if I

am reading Solar Maps correctly). Uranus at the MC is opposing Sun (plus

Transpluto) Moon, Mars, Mercury at the IC. Pluto in the descendent

foreground squared by Jupiter and quincunx Saturn.

Maybe I misunderstood you, Therese -- I assumed you meant you need four

charts for each *year* (instead of each month), which is usually the case,

if we say we want to compute demi- and quarterly returns for the Sun.

Anyway, you should select whatever base chart you want the demi- or quarter

returns to be calculated for. You selected the Aquarius ingress chart as the

base chart. Quartely returns to that chart indeed produce the ingress charts

into the other fixed signs. But was it something else you were trying to

accomplish, instead?

Here I am a bit lost as to what input screen you are referring to. -- Let's

see...you have an ingress chart and you want to use it as a base chart for

something else? What exactly?

Yes, this is the obvious shortcoming of the procedure I outlined. Sure, you

can highlight each calculated ingress chart in the Calculated Charts window,

press <CTRL> + <Insert> keys, edit just the name of the chart and press

<Enter>. Then you get the chart instantly re-calculated with the proper

given name attached to it. The way I might want do it, however (if I used

the charts just for my own research), is: I would calculate the first

ingress chart, then rename it as mere " Ingress of the Sun " and then

calculate the next 11 ingresses using the 12th Harmonic Return -option. All

the charts would then have this " generic " name, but I could instantly see

from the chart date, which ingress chart is in question when. If I wanted

to pay more attention to some of them, maybe to " publish " or print them,

only then I would rename them as " Aries ingress " or " Taurus Ingress " , or

whatever...for clarity's sake.

You need to make it into a new " primary chart " by editing its name and

re-calculating it the way I explained above.

Hope this is of some help!

I figured out one way to get what I wanted--to divide each solar month into

four. So if I type 7.30.00 into the 'Position or Ingress' box, I'll get a

chart for the second quarter of the month. I see that the program calls

this a Transit chart. There's probably no way to compute all four charts

for the month at once.

It's sort of like a lunar phase chart, except that I'm dividing the ingress

chart into four sections. This is only an experiment since I want to try a

couple of ways of tracking local weather. We just had a five day deluge

here. (So far I haven't found the Caplunar very descriptive, either F-B or

K. But I've only looked at a few charts--getting to know Solar Fire.)

Thanks!! That's what I needed to know. And thanks for the other suggestion

of an alternate way to name a series of charts.

I started to use computer programs in the days of big fat multiple manuals

for a single DOS program, and I can't say how lost I feel without a printed

manual. They're supposed to ship at the end of the month.

Therese:

What you're essentially wanting here is a series of 48-harmonic

charts (12 X 4= 12 signs each divided into 4 parts). Follow Ritso's

instructions on generating multiple ingresses, but in the Harmonic

box, insert 48 instead of 12.
