A very important query !!

 

Let us first understand about the planet Venus. It is a bhogatmak

planet. Bhogatmak means of enjoyment and contentment, ability to

enjoy and derive pleasure from all our physical activities, be it

eating food, wearing good clothes, applying scent, sex and so on.

 

A Venus placed in the 8th house is trapped in the darkness of hell

with the result that we will not be able to enjoy or derive pleasure

from any of our physical activities.

 

Just an example: if one went to a restaurant for dinner where every

thing was perfect except for an extra pinch of salt in one of the

dishes; for the person with Venus in the 8th that extra pinch of salt

will be all that he will remember and his entire evening will be

wasted because of that. He just cannot enjoy the evening for every

thing else that was there too.

 

Now coming to the upaya:

 

There could be half a dozen upaya for Venus in the 8th depending on

what the problem is. The two upaya that you have mentioned are not

problem specific. They are general upaya for Venus in the 8th house.

 

The first upaya of dropping a copper coin into a sewage drain for 43

days regularly is an alternative to a rather difficult upaya. The

difficult upaya is to feed a peda [ ball ] of wheat flour to a black

cow every Sunday for 8 Sundays regularly. In this upaya peda [ sun ]

wheat flour [ sun ] Sundays [ sun ] cow [ venus ] black cow [ venus

trapped in darkness]. Since a black cow is an extremely rare thing to

find, that is why the alternative upaya of dropping the coin in a

sewage drain.

 

The purpose of the upaya is to brighten up or provide light to the

Venus trapped in the house of darkness through the help of the Sun so

that the darkened venus does not hamper the enjoyment of our

activities.

 

Dropping of a copper coin into a sewage drain [ 8th house ] serves

the same purpose as the earlier upaya. It brings light to venus so

that it could shine in order to fulfill our physical pleasures.

 

The other upaya is for a different purpose. Dropping of a flower into

a sewage drain is to strengthen venus through its friend mercury [

flower ] which is also a friend of Saturn [ owner of the 8th house ]

and rahu , which again is associated with the 8th.

 

This upaya is not as much for enjoyment as it is to get benefic

results of other karaks Venus like the well being of the spouse, skin

etc.
