Dear Kulbir ji,

I must first congratulate you for your spirit of enquiry. Such a question could not have been brought up unless you have been reading the Book intensively.

You must have realized by now that no one can understand the Lal Kitab reading it as a novel. In spite of my reading the book very intensively over these years, I can not claim to have understood it more than 20% to 25%.

You have asked two clarifications:

[a] Why doesn’t Mars behave ashubh [bud] even when placed in the 4th house when the Sun is placed in the 6th house?

Why would Mars act malefic for santaan when placed in the 10th house, while the Sun is placed in the 6th house? Is Mars using Ketu as its scapegoat?

[a] There are no indications in the book explaining as to why Mars would not behave ashubh [bud] even in the 4th house when the sun is in the 6th house. Therefore the answer to this question is based on my understanding of the context. To my mind these could be the reasons:

{i} When the sun is placed in the 6th house, it is in the uchcha sthan [house of exaltation] of mercury. Hence the sun imbibes a part of mercury thus leading to sun + mercury. This sun + mercury combination forms a Mars shubh [nek]. Once this combination is formed, Mars will not act ashubh [bud] irrespective of where ever it is placed.

{ii} If you notice on the palm of the hand the area designated for house # 6 and the area designated for Mars ashubh are adjacent to each other. A sun placed in the 6th will influence the adjacent area. Once the Mars gets associated with the sun it no longer acts ashubh.

{iii} An ashubh Mars spells misery, deprivation and want. If you notice, the placement of the Sun in the 6th house guarantees :

“ jo tarse na rozi ko, patthar ka keeda

to maathe ki teri ko, kaun dho degaâ€

“Even when a worm living in a stone is not deprived of its livelihood, then who can erase what is written in bhagyaâ€

It is this guarantee which makes the Mars behave.

[2] Once again there are no indications in the book as to why mars should have adverse effect on the progeny. And once again the answer is based on my understanding of the context.

The adverse effect on progeny by Mars placed in the 10th house is not a case of Ketu being made a scapegoat. There is no ‘takarav’ between the sun and the mars. It could have been there had the two of them been placed in the 6-8 position. Therefore the reason for this adverse effect has to be sought some where else.

In my opinion, the reason for this adverse effect appears to be the 8th aspect of the mars on the 5th house [the house of progeny]. Yes, the Lal Kitab takes cognizance of the traditional 8th aspect of the mars. A mars placed in the 10th house will afflict the 5th house, and the sun the owner of the house can not come to the rescue of the 5th house because it lies down under in paatal [6th house].

Therefore, if the mars is placed in the 10th house, and if there is no benefic influence on the 5th house, then it is possible that the progeny might be adversely affected.

God bless you

Bhooshan Priya

Guruji,

Thanks a lot for this explanation. It is very true that

lalkitab is not simple as a qaida or novel as it was presented to be.

Reading it like novel can be understood like reading Dan Brown's The

Da Vinci Code. While reading one novel the reader has to understand so

much data. And here is a book that is sort of compilation of rules of

astrology, palmistry, vaastu, in fact all traits connected with life.

I realised this fact when i began to learn the tables given in the

book. The book which specifies rules so technically cannot be

compared to qaida or novel. It is fortunate that attempts are being

made to understand it.

Respect and Regards.

Kulbir.
