As far as I can see, the SSR has an Ascendant at 27 Sco, Sun at 0Pis52, Saturn at 18Sag11 and Jupiter at 6Tau09. Jupiter is conjunct Mars squaring my North Node; this conjunction is in the 6th if you use Campanus (I believe this is the preferred house system in sidereal astrology?); Saturn is conjunct Neptune in the 1st, and opposing my Moon. I do have an airy Moon/Venus/Pluto grand trine in the SSR (houses 2,7,11). That's assuming I've got my SSR correct, of course Chris.

I didn't ask if that's where you were living at the time of the solar return. But this SSR chart works out fine. You wrote in an earlier post: >In my own chart... - my Saturn return was a fabulous >year for me, with extra promotion and a pay rise and lots of holidays, and >not remotely traumatic. This solar return (I'm using rounded off Lahiri positions) has 28 Scorpio rising. In your natal chart Jupiter is at 8 Sagittarius. This is close enough to call natal Jupiter angular--conjunct the Asc--in the SSR. There are only two planets closely angular in the solar return chart--Venus at the nadir at 27 Aquarius and the Sun at 2 Pisces. So right off the bat we have two angular benefics, Venus and Jupiter. The Sun will bring recognition of some kind (a promotion in this case). There are no planets in the SSR that closely aspect the MC/IC axis (unless I'm missing something). Chris, your chart is a good one for using an equal house system because you were born at such high latitude. I have used only equal house for years with the cusps at the centers of the houses. Your solar return for this year has 28 Scorpio rising with the MC at 2 Libra--only one sign behind the ascendant sign. I personally never use Campanus or any other quadrant system to divide the houses. To continue with the SSR: The angular Venus in the SSR is conjunct natal Mercury at 22 Aquarius. Mercury rules the natal 2nd and 11th houses--personal resources and gains from others, so...promotion and a pay raise. Mercury also rules travel, and you seemed to indicate that perhaps there were trips related to your holidays. SSR Moon at 22 Gemini also aspects natal Mercury by trine, so this again emphasizes Mercury's functions. SSR Moon opposes natal Saturn, another indication that Saturn can act in a benefic way in your chart. Now this is a *transit* to Saturn, and as I mentioned in another post, Saturn is in a mansion of Venus. So we have Venus emphasis again. SSR Moon and Venus both contact natal Mercury--which happens to be in a mansion of Jupiter! Something that will only show up in Jyotish is that in the navamsa chart (Lahiri) Jupiter is in Pisces on the ascendant, and Venus is angular in the 4th. Pisces/Jupiter will conjoin your natal Sun, which is angular in the solar return chart. So, putting this all together, we have a happy year. (If you take the SSR aspects to the SSR Moon, they don't look that great. Uranus, Neptune and Saturn oppose the Moon.) My astro program doesn't do bi-wheels, so I may have missed something. You wrote in an earlier post: Actually, I had moved - but only 180km due west, from 0w35 to 2w36. Same latitude. I don't think the differences will be dramatic. Your interpretation makes a LOT of sense, Therese - many thanks. I will print out my SSR and have a look at this in more detail - thanks again! Chris.
