Guest guest
Hi everyone, I joined this list a few days ago and am enjoying the discussions immensely. Thanks for letting me eavesdrop. I'm very new to astrology but have been giving myself an intensive cram course (just for the fun of it) by analyzing my own chart and scrutinizing everyone else's every spare minute of the day and reading everything I can get my hands on. I even did a chart for my developing weaving business, which will have its official birthday next spring and has now become a separate entity in gestation with its own personality! My question has to do with good sources for the discussion concerning tropical and sidereal astrology. I did my chart first off (with Io) in tropical mode. I spent weeks looking and considering and learning, and then I did it in sidereal mode and I was blown away. The tropical chart showed me many aspects of myself that I'm familiar with, and it's certainly the interpretation I got twenty years ago when I first went to an astrologer. But the sidereal chart shows me the me *I* know. Someone on this list had commented (I'm paraphrasing) that a tropical chart was a good picture of the personality, but that the sidereal chart went deeper. I was wondering what that could mean. Then I did this chart, and I FEEL it. I still can't say exactly what shifted, but it was more than the houses and signs. It feels deeper, more appropriate somehow. This should be enough, I suppose, but being who I am I'd love to find out some more about the background of difference between these two systems. Could anyone recommend a good source? I mean, besides all the knowledgeable folks on this list, of course... Thanks! Jori
