Guest guest
From the Youngastro list from Moses Siregar II: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi ya'll, I just sent out a newsletter (I've posted it at http://astrologyforthesoul.com/elec2.html ) with some interesting tidbits on the election. I'll reproduce those here. Some creepy Halloween connections: I did find some incredibly interesting things recently that involve the " ghosts " of Richard Nixon and Presidents past. I'll list them here. As you may already know, the last time Saturn precisely transited the US Sun at the 14th degree of tropical Cancer, Nixon resigned due to the Watergate scandal (Aug. 9th, 1974). Saturn returned to that same degree over the last year as Bush has faced scandal after scandal. When Nixon was re-elected in 1972, he had just had his second Saturn Return, but the strategies he employed to win connected him to the Watergate scandal right away. George W. Bush is currently having his second Saturn Return. In 1880, Rutherford B. Hayes retired from the Presidency. Referred to as " his fraudulency, " he won the Presidency after voter scandal issues in the state of Florida in 1876. Check out this entry from the online wikipedia encyclopedia: ---start quote Election of 1876 However, as with all elections, the decision was left to the U.S. Electoral College, where the votes of four states were contested. In order to win, the candidates had to muster 185 votes: Tilden was short just one, with 184 votes, Hayes had 165, with 20 votes representing four states were contested. To make matters worse, three of these states (Florida, Louisiana, and South Carolina) were in the South, which was still under military occupation. After months of deliberation and bargaining, Southern Democrats were assured that if Hayes were elected, he would pull federal troops out of the south and end Reconstruction. In return, the Democrats agreed to a committee to determine the final outcome of the election. The committee, which consisted of eight Republicans and seven Democrats, voted to give all the disputed electoral votes to Hayes. The Republicans justified this by claiming that the problem in these states was over who had the right to vote. The Democrats, on the other hand, felt that they had been robbed of the presidency, and called Hayes " Rutherfraud. " ---end quote One amazing thing about the astrological timing is this. Hayes retired in 1880. 120 years later, history repeated itself in the form of Republican George W. Bush losing the popular vote, having questionable electoral college results involving a scandal in Florida, and ultimately winning the Presidency by a margin of one vote amongst a very small group of elites. The Vimshottari dasa system (THE major dasa system) in Vedic astrology takes exactly 120 years to repeat itself. When Nixon was first elected in 1968, he was in his Saturn-Jupiter dasa-bhukti. George Bush is currently in his Saturn-Jupiter dasa bhukti. That only happens for an individual once every 120 years. On the other hand, When Nixon was relected in 1972, he was in the very early stages of his Mercury dasa, and his Mercury is in the relatively limiting nakshatra of Mula. John Kerry is in the very early stages of his Mercury dasa, and his Mercury is in the relatively limiting nakshatra of Mula. My only real prediction remains this. Whoever wins the Presidency is not going to have an easy time of things. And I am understating that. I do also wonder if a voter fraud scandal in 2004 could lead to Bush's resignation or impeachment (or just a plain old hard time) in his potential second term. I think it is very possible. Go Sox!!!
