This gives further confirmation to the May 3 1947 Japan chart Asc 3Cp. Transit Mars 3 Libra closely squared the Ascendant yesterday. In my original Oct 16th prediction on the jyotish and sidereal lists, I thought that earthquakes and natural disasters would be more likely in the weeks ahead, especially on Oct 21 and November 7. The earlier, more damaging, earthquake hit Oct 23, just 2 days after I thought it might, and a powerful typhoon also struck southern Japan Oct 20 killing over 100 people. I would also note that the recent beheading of a young Japanese traveller last week conforms with the 9th house lordship of Mercury which is currently afflicted by transit Saturn. Thanks Steve but the earthquake was not that significant -- minimal damage and no deaths, unfortunately. :-) Still, it confirms the chart nicely. Talking about good mundane astrology, I think your July prediction for a difficult time for the US and Bush is unfolding in Falluja these days. We'll see how that pans out. I guess yoru prediction was open ended enough to include either a major application of force or suffering of significant military losses. Or maybe all this stolen election talk will hit the mainstream press as well. We can only hope. I'd like to think that the Saturn station on the US Mercury might be linked to voting rather than young people like soldiers. Some tropicalists are talking about that Saturn stationing opposite the US (unprecessed) Pluto. Funny thing is that does capture something of the disgruntlement amongst 48% of the population.
