Steve and Greg, I like the Mars in Scorpio better since this is a strong Mars influencing the personality. (Mars as natal dispositor of Mercury, exalted Sun, Mars and Venus. What's Venus doing in Hitler's navamsa ascendant? Hitler wanted to be an artist in his younger days, but failed at this. Venus isn't as strong in Scorpio as is Mars. Also he was obsessed with his (neice?) when younger, a Venusian 'illness.' > >Greg wrote: > Does Solar Fire run these suckers? Yes, highlight any natal chart, choose harmonic from the Chart menu, type in 9 and you get the navamsa degrees and signs. However Solar Fire divides the navamsa chart by equal house whereas in Jyotish each navamsa sign is a house. >So how is the navamsa related to this an as interpretation? Read this as a conjunction of Venus-Mars-Rahu-Pluto. (This is with Krishnamurti.) (3) The Sun crosses to natal Rahu, so we get a double Rahu whammy with all the negative implications of that shadowy 'planet.' (4) Moon, natal 10th lord is in the navamsa 10th with Jupiter in kingly Leo. This more clearly describes Hitler's leadership role than the natal chart alone. (5) The Sun is in the navamsa 8th house. Here is where I depart (from experience) with tradition. The 8th seems to be related to groups and insitutional activities: armies, churches, schools, hospitals. Picture Hitler's marching thousands, his work with youth groups in the military. His identity with the German people. His conquering armies. An interesting sidenote: I've read that Yogananda said that Hitler was a developed soul who went wrong. Yogananda was supposed to have tried to see Hitler when in Germany (to influence him toward a less destructive path), but failed. One view of the navamsa is that it's the soul's plan for this life. Looking at Hitler's navamsa in this way, the Moon/Jupiter in 10th in Leo could have meant that he could have done a great deal of good for Germany. Venus in first with Mars could have tempered Mars. But Rahu--darkness--is sitting right there ready to pounce. Rahu won. The soul lost. Neptune is exactly square the Sun in the navamsa chart. This may speak of Hitler's state of spiritual development and/or his succombing to the illusion of his own superiority and the superiority of his people. This all has to be taken in light of the running dasas, which Steve may explain. Therese

Hi Therese, Thanks for the analysis. I think I'm starting to get the drift of how you're analyzing this, but my technique is still pretty spotty. Can anyone fill me in on the reasoning for using a 9th harmonic, other than that they've been doing it for thousands of years? Is there something special about the number 9, or the 3 degree, 20 minute segments (1/9th) of each sign? And why do they project the navamsas from the cardinal signs? Is this a particular measure of action being created? [Those dang tropicalists with their questions...] ....Let's see now, the planets are projected from the cardinal points by element, right? Sidereally, he's got six planets plus Ketu in fire with cardinal angles, Saturn in water, Rahu in air. There's no stability there. Fire and water are the two most subjective, unstable, and impassioned elements. His tropical chart shows five planets in earth, an opposite emphasis, possibly showing an inner stubbornness and perseverance that sidereally expresses more impulsively with emotional unsteadiness? Did that make sense? I can see the Sun-Mercury conjunction in Aries on the 7th cusp, with him shaking his fist at the crowd and turning red as he stirs everybody up (Sun exalted by sign, fall by house). > ...Rahu and Pluto cross very closely to natal Mars/Venus. Read this as a conjunction of Venus-Mars-Rahu-Pluto. The Sun crosses to natal Rahu, so we get a double Rahu whammy with all the negative implications of that shadowy 'planet.' I can see that! He was a double-headed demon! For the Sun to cross to Rahu, this must bring out an obsessive-compulsive streak. Sun and Rahu are enemies, are they not? Inner turmoil. His sidereal Rahu was also exalted in Gemini, Mercury's sign, perhaps giving him a kind of energized mad genius. With navamsa Sun ruling the Leo Midheaven with the fixed Moon on it and squaring Venus-Mars rising, there is a lot of intense self-promotion going on. Talk about insatiable worldly desire!! -Greg
