Only recently have I been introduced to Sidereal astrology and I find myself wanting to learn more and more. I am taking a class with an astrologer but we meet just once a month. In the meantime I read whatever I can get my hands on and try to analyze more of my own chart. My other hobby is investing in stocks. Recently, I have been having horrible skin problems. Breakouts on my face, in addition to bad mosquito bites on my legs, just terrible. Is this due to saturn? I believe someone told me it may be due to a current square with mars in my chart. Skin eruptions are due to either Mars being activated in your chart or the transit of Mars to the relevant planets in your birth chart. I had a nasty eruption in the winter that was partially due to Saturn stationing near my Moon in the 6th house. Moon represents the face, and that's where it was. I realized that much of the rash could be controlled through diet. I learned how to control it through the ayurvedic concept of pitta, or fire. There are a number of foods one should avoid in order to cool the skin, including hot peppers, caffeine, salt, peanuts, etc. Feel free to email off list if you want more non-astrological info. There are a few things that might be signalling your recent skin problems: According to the Hindu system, you're running Venus-Jupiter dasha. Jupiter sub period started in 2004. the trouble with Jupiter is its fallen in Capricorn in your chart and in the 6th house of health. Generally this will bring a greater amount of health concerns during its 3 year run. And once transit Saturn moved into Cancer, it was aspecting this Jupiter, thus ratcheting up the affliction. None of this speaks to the skin directly however. Mercury is 2nd lord of face and its fallen in the 8th house in Pisces opposed by Uranus. This is a very general influence that speaks to general problems but nothing specific related to health or face I would say. And since Moon is often taken as significator for face (and it is used as a secondary ascendant as well in hindu circles), we can see that transit Saturn is casting its most malefic 10th house aspect to the 2nd house (the face) in Aries which contains Venus the planet of beauty and Sun. This is also going to be stressful for skin. Venus and Sun are made weaker by virtue of having only 17 bindu points in Aries in the ashtakavarga system. I usually don't pay too much attention to this, but 17 points is quite low. This makes these planets more vulnerable to negative influences (like the Saturn transit from Cancer). Moreover, transit Mars is in Aries right now so that's not helping matters. Plus, Mars has 0 bindus in Aries. So there are a few things that caught my eye. While I can't be sure about what the astrological key might be, I would think you'll have to be diligent about your condition for a while, at least until Mars leaves Aries in Feb 2006. Do try the pitta-reducing diet I mentioned if you haven't already. Jupiter coming into Libra in late September should also bring some improvement. It's also possible that Jupiter's close aspect to 2nd lord Mercury around mid-Sep may bring improvement. Let me know how things are going and which planets seem to be having the best effect.
