Sari: Therese, though I wouldn't go as far as to say that all the sidereal signs are essentially the same than the following tropical signs, I really like this thinking of yours. I can see how Neptune has taken some of the qualities of the traditional Saturn - and how Uranus with his cold, inhuman, scientific side has taken some of the qualities of Saturn too, because most of the tropical Aquarius is sidereally Capricorn. Note how Saturn, the traditional slave, has in the modern tropical astrology become " The Great Teacher " as most of the tropical Capricorn covers sidereally Sagittarius ruled by Jupiter! How traditionally quite conservative and pompous Jupiter has become a freedom-loving, roaming cowboy, because most of the planets in the tropical Sagittarius can be found in the sidereal Scorpio ruled traditionally by Mars. Pluto has become a sexual, manipulative planet, because the tropical Scorpio covers for the most part the same degrees as the sidereal Libra ruled by Venus. Venus has got more emphasis on her intellectual, perfection striven side (which people interpret as " striving for balance " in modern tropical astrology), because most of the tropical Libra becomes sidereally Virgo ruled by Mercury. With the tropical Virgo the tropicalists have not been able to solve the problem, so they just say that " Virgo will find a suitable ruler, sooner or later " unless they don't think that the real ruler of Virgo is Chiron. Finally the heroic warlord Sun in his fiery cariot has become " The Divine Child " (according to Liz Greene) because most of the tropical Leo consists today of the sidereal Cancer ruled by the Moon. Hello Sari, You've done a really good job of continuing along this line of thought--that the sidereal signs are essentially the same as the following Tropical signs. I'll bet you can't find a single Tropical sign that doesn't make more sense as the preceding sidereal sign with its ruler and (if applicable) its exalted planet! May I put your comments on my web site under your name? If so, please post your full name here. I don't understand, however, how Neptune has taken on some of the traditional qualities of Saturn, though Uranus seems to have absorbed the more occult side of Saturn (as stated in the old books). It's interesting that Edgar Cayce said in many, many readings that Saturn related very much to change and the rubbing out of the past and leaving matters unfinished in order to make way for new directions. You'll find in general that any truly successful person who gains the admiration of the world (Jupiter) has concentrated his/her energies in a single direction. And those on the lower end of the social spectrum are prone to change occuptions and directions often (Saturn). They get bored with one ordinary mundane job and move on to another boring mundane job. I especially like your comments on how Saturn, the traditional slave, has metamorphized into " The Great Teacher " due to sidereal Sag lying beneath Tropical Capricorn. Then the million dollar question: " Is there really a Tropical Capricorn, or are only the sidereal signs for real? " Thanks, Therese Sari wrote: >I can see how Neptune has taken some >of the qualities of the traditional Saturn - and how Uranus with his >cold, inhuman, scientific side has taken some of the qualities of Saturn >too, because most of the tropical Aquarius is sidereally Capricorn. > >Note how Saturn, the traditional slave, has in the modern tropical >astrology become " The Great Teacher " as most of the tropical Capricorn >covers sidereally Sagittarius ruled by Jupiter!
