Guest guest
Here are the charts that ADB pulled up when I asked for charts with planets in Taurus in 10thaspecting the ascendant: (1) Alain Trudel, one of the world's great bass virtuoso trombonists: 26 Leo Asc; Mars18 Tau; sun 29 Tau; MC 23 Tau; dispositor Venus at 22 Aries (9th) (One could make a case for Taurus/Venus and music here) (2) Michael Gordon, musician, bassist, helped to found the band Phish: 9 Leo Asc. Mercury 3, Jup 16, Sun 19, Rah 20 all Taurus. Dispositor Venus 3 Gemini. (Again one could make a Taurus- music link, but no particular emphasis on intellect.) (3) Mary Wells Lawrence, top paid advertising executive: Asc 6 Leo (conjunct Regulus); Venus 2, Sun 11, Rahu 17 Taurus; added Pucci colors and and models to formerly drab airplanes (Taurus-Venus); Noted love affair ending in marriage; 1 Leo asc; Sun 2, Uranus 23, Venus 27, Rahu 29 Taurus. (I'd comment that advertising is working for/with the public, can be linked to the Moon-Venus rulerships of Taurus.) Three in Govt/Politics ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (4) Rosemary Barnes, British Parliament member: 1 Leo asc; Sun 2, Uranus 23, Venus 27, Rahu 29 Taurus (Why politics? Good question using only the natal chart. The navmasa has Mercury- Moon-Jupiter in Leo in the natal ascendant sign.) (5) Matt Gonzalez, ran for mayor of San Francisco: 18 Leo asc; Mercury 12, Jupiter 17, MC 17, Rahu 21, Sun 20 Taurus; Dispositor Venus 5 Gemini (Very heavy Taurus emphasis, all would go to Tropical Gemini) (Hint: Rahu/Sun from the navamsa cross to the natal Moon in Cancer, a political sign according to Gleadow's ancient authors.) (6) Kenneth Lee Adelman, American govt official appointed director of the U.S. Arms Control Agency, later became a senior political scientist; also taught classes on Shakespeare at Georgetown U; 16 Leo asc; MC 11, Uranus 25, Sun 25 Rahu 28 Taurus; Dispositor Venus in Gemini with Saturn. Moon-Jupiter in Virgo, same as GW. Jup/Ur/Sun in Leo on navamsa ascendant, conjunct natal asc; (Does it matter that the Taurus planets are all in a nakshatra of Mars for his political years?) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (7) Attorney 44506: 25 Leo asc; Jup17.5, Mercury 20, Rahu 20, MC 23, Sun 24 Taurus; Dispositor Venus in Gemini; Mars conj asc; (All Taurus planets would go to Trop Gemini.) The Lesbian, however was a school teacher who formerly worked in advertising, a pattern similar to the Thai lady. Asc 11 Leo; Sun 5, MC 6, Moon 8.5, Rahu 27, Mercury 23 Taurus; Disp. Venus at 24 Aries. Two Psychologists: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (12) Psychologist 10209: 6.5 Leo asc; MC 0, Sun 7, Uranus 23, Rahu 29 Taurus; Disp Venus in Gemini; (The Moon is on the 6th cusp, the 6th supposedly having to do with illness and psychological problems. Moon is trine the Sun with a one degree orb. Neptune is in a grand trine with Moon and Sun. (13) Brandon Wilder, creator of a type of behavioral training; Rahu 9, Sun 13.5, Uranus 28, Mercury 28 Taurus; Like the above psychologist, the Moon is on a cusp, the 2nd. Navamsa Moon is in the natal 6th. Neptune (whose symbol is the psychological trident) is on the navamsa ascendant. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Two in the acting field: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (14) Brooke Shields: Asc. 30 Leo; Mercury 4, Jupiter 15, Sun 16, Rahu 20, Moon28, MC 28, Venus 30 Taurus. Drug binges; (16) Reverend Tooks, gifted psychic: 6 Leo Asc (conjunct Regulus); Mc 2, Rahu 16, Venus 18.5, Sun 25 Taurus; Neptune on the ascendant; Jupiter trine ascendant. (17) Nauman, humanist astrologer who taught at Kent State; wrote 50 romance novels under different names; Homeopathic degree; Asc 5 Leo; MC 1, Mercury2, Sun 9, Uranus 24, Rahu 29 Taurus; Dispositor Venus in Gemini; (Talk about a prolific writer and teacher!) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So here are 17 people with multiple planets in Taurus in the 10th. What do they have in common? Well, one thing is obvious. There are no shrinking violets, closeted scientists or hermits. All work with or for people in a public way. They are in politics, entertainment, teaching, acting, the helping professions or advertising. So we can conclude that his sign (whether you call it Taurus or Gemini) is socially motivated and enjoys working with others. In the sidereal zodiac Taurus is ruled by Venus and the exaltation of the sociable Moon. This is why (on my web site) I've listed Taurus as one of the feminine signs with motivation for communicating and socializing with others. We see from this list of heavily Taurus people that the socializing instinct can take diverse directions: music and acting (performing), health service occupations, politics, teaching, advertising, etc.: Sidereal Gemini (a Mercurial sign) often combines with Taurus because dispositor Venus is there. There are no physical occupations as such: no sports champions, truck drivers or jobs involving hard labor. So we might say this sign tends to be 'cultured.' Most of these professions require a certain amount of education, or a specific talent is needed, such as ability in music. The more internal and sometimes anti-social traits of Tropical Taurus don't at all fit with these people, which suggests that the interpretation of sidereal Taurus is much different than Tropical Taurus. Most of these Taurus planets would be in Tropical Gemini. So I'd ask, " Which Gemini traits can't be applied to the sociable and other- oriented Sidereal Taurus, that is, related to either Venus or the Moon or the sidereal Taurus triplicity--the triplicity of Mercury (communication)? " This has been a very enlightening exercise for me. Any discussion is welcome from anyone, but please don't make statements like, " Well, you're wrong. It's this way! " Just tell it like you see it (in your opinion) without seeming to want to start an argument. Examples of actual people are always very helpful. P.S. This has been *exhausting*, so expect to see typos. Cheers, Therese
