Guest guest
I'm aware that a popular birth time for USA is July 4, 1776 between 4 & 6 pm Philadelphia LMT. Lately I've become aware that a really good case can be made for July 2 when congress voted for independence. If there was a presiding officer for that vote I'm suspecting there was a gavel rap on the decision. I'm hoping someone recorded the time and that it is available to us. Even moreso, I'm hoping someone on this list has that time and would be so kind as to supply it. Regards Liath Macha
Guest guest
Hello Liath, This site shows how very complicated the picture is: http://www.thedeclarationofindependence.org/ but certainly you are right that a stronger case exists for July 2, 1776 ... what is needed is a rectification study to pin down the best practical chart for birth of the US. Such events as the surrender of Cornwallis, 1812 burning of the White House, outbreak of Civil War and 9/11, etc ought to show up fairly stunningly ... then you know you've got it. On the other hand, it may be that July 4 was chosen for esoteric reasons. Election day and original Presidential inauguration date (early March? or was it April?) may have been selected accordingly. Guest guest
Rectification for this event has gone on semi-forever... But I still have 34 charts for USA ~ and I find them useful. ________________________________ Julia Cybele wrote: > what is needed is a rectification study to pin down the best > practical chart for birth of the US. >
