This is right on. Sidereal Pisces is a fine example of a sign where the

tropical Pisces descriptions go far off the mark, but tropical Aries

descriptions fit quite well. The interesting part here is the difference

between Mars and Jupiter. Mars is a soldier planet - so it must be

diciplined, determined, practical, strategic, considerate etc. but tropical

Aries is nothing like that. Tropical Aries is descripted as rash, bullying,

bossy, domineering... exactly the words Gauquelin found in Jupiter.

And people with planets in sidereal Pisces often really are like that. Have

you noted how many ice hockey players and race drivers have their Sun in

sidereal Pisces? I studied once what is the most common sidereal Sun or

rising sign in ADB with people classified as " aggressive, brash " . Yes

indeed - it was Pisces.

The film director Quentin Tarantino has his Sun, Mercury and Jupiter in

sidereal Pisces (27 March 1963, Knoxville, Tennessee). Here we have a

Piscean making these Zeus-like movies. Think about the character played by

Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction, quoting Ezekiel: " ...and you will know

that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon you. "

Well, Samuel L. Jackson (21 December 1948, Washington DC) has four planets

in sidereal Sagittarius, the other sign ruled by Jupiter.

Sari, thanks for your thoughtful responses today! I think we may have hit

on a way to find some evidence for signs that the scientists would have

trouble disputing. Your comments on Mars, Jupiter and Pisces were very

revealing.

Suppose, for example, that we give up trying to find a generic astro

signature for 'actor,' and instead concentrate on what *kinds* of films an

actor stars in? The same for the authors of books and poetry, and for other

occupations and interestss as well.

I think if we continue to try to statistically find psychological traits

for the signs, we may be barking up the wrong tree. But if we look at each

person's *life,* observable patterns or occupations, we might be on to

something. Gerald, for example (same ascendant degree as George Lucas)

lived and breathed Star Wars for many years, and has always had Mars-type

occupations.

Try telling a certain type of sidereal Sagittarian that he/she has some

faults, and that person may never speak to you again. Jupiter can be

imperious. One of my daughters (whose Sun is in the same degree in

Sagittarius as Tiger Woods) as a child was disciplined by her father in a

way she didn't like. She didn't speak a word to him for a solid year. This

is an example of the will power of the sidereal Aries trigon. Rulers: Mars,

Sun, Jupiter.

Sari, I'd like to put your comments on my web site under 'Reader Response'

if that is all right with you. I have several files and e-mails that I need

to prepare for the site.

Sari and others, I hope we can continue to brain storm here about the

various signs. This is how we make astrological discoveries. Thanks, Don,

for starting this conversation.
