Hi Do astrologers really claim to tell the future?

Paulo,

Some are better at it than others. I'm not so great, nor do I want to be,

but if I see a major aspect coming up I can usually tell the general gist of

it. For example, a few years back I saw that transiting Mars would be

quincunx my natal asc. ruler Mercury while stationary. I anticipated some

sort of illness or accident, as that's what quincunxes are supposed to

signify. When the time came, it turned out I needed surgery for a small

beginning stage cancer.

Some people are super accurate, others aren't. My personal philosophy is

that it's better not to dwell on it, but live in the present. That's my

philosophy, but I don't always follow it.

The picture seems incomplete without Jupiter. Did it factor in at the

time?

I am happy just to construct a framework of understanding from which

events of a certain shape can unfold. I ask for nothing more. On arising

this morning I went to the computer to find my progressed Moon was upon

a friend's regressed Venus to minute when transiting Mercury

(retrograde) aspected them exactly during the hour.

My friend is deceased. The message was about Art and was awakened by

affection.

This whole thing transpired upon remembering suddenly a painting seen

many years ago. It was titled (I think)...Little Known Adventures of the

Progressed Moon...and had been done by an astrologer confined to a

madhouse in Holland earlier in the century. The exhibition appeared in

the States and the Haags Gemeentemuseum.

than 'truth'.

Mars didn't cause anything. It just stood significantly still against

Bettina's Mercury so she might scuttle her body off to the doctor for

heal (cadaeceus). The doctor was clever and it was only a small problem.

We know he was clever because she survived to tell us the story. I was

addressing instead Bettina's whole milieu because somewhere in that

oort's cloud there was a Cancer being formed by Mars-Jupiter. Just

where? It would just be a little nub with her . For something big in the

3-H club of health-hospital-and-heaven see the MA-JU of Jacqueline

Kennedy Onassis.

Paulo,

Can you give a complete " portrait " of you, and which questions you wish to

Paulo,

It's not a short transit if it goes retrograde. Retro planets are the

strongest for good or ill. And, it didn't cause the cancer, it just

indicated the surgery (cutting=Mars). Roy (can't recall his last name), of

Siegfried and Roy, was under the same transit when he was mauled by his

tiger. He was born only a couple of days before I was. I can't remember

his asc. I'd say I got off easy.

Dark Star,

I don't remember what Jupiter was doing. I'll go back and look. Why would

that be important? I was just figuring on Mars having to do with surgery,

cutting, knives, like that.

Paulo,

No, it didn't cause much harm. Everything turned out well. The Mars

transit simply had to do with the surgery, which when you think of it, is a

very Mars thing.

Roy Horn is the name of the fellow. He has Cancer rising and Mars was Retro

right on his 8th house of disasters cusp, qncx Mercury, ruler of 12th (self

undoing) and 3rd.

The cancer was in the breast, ruled by 4th house, Mercury rules my asc and

4th. So that's the area where the cutting took place.

Dark,

Transiting Jupiter wasn't doing much. It was at 15 degrees Leo on the day

of the surgery. That's the cusp of my 3rd, and a sextile to natal Venus,

but that doesn't seem very important. I don't know anything about Jupiter

and cancer (the disease). What is the connection? Since J has to do with

expansion and growth, it would make sense that it would figure in somehow.

Bettina, I was thinking your natal chart to find Mars-Jupiter. Paulo's

diabetes didn't really show up transit wise until the solar the month

after its discovery. Its 'promise' was in the natal as a prominent

Jupiter afflicting the 2nd. Its immediate acuity was in the solar.

Mars (accelerated) Jupiter (growth). You show it natally somehow.

In the navamsa they're cnj. Can't think of anything else. Natal J is 22

Leo in 3rd, natal M is 2 Libra in 5th.

Paulo,

What is your natal Venus doing? How about Jupiter? I should have run off

your chart back when you told us your data, but didn't. Venus has to do

with diabetes because Venus rules sugar. I've noticed Venus-Jupiter aspects

in many charts of diabetics. Venus=sugar, Jupiter= excess.

Paulo, I remember now, I did run off your chart. I can't remember where it

is. But I do recall that you have Venus in Sag in 8th, Jupiter in Capr in

9th, so no aspect there. Maybe in the navamsa.
