Hi Francoise,

Jyotish can't really be reduced to keywords, but the best modern book on

the topic, LIGHT ON LIFE by Hart DeFouw and Robert Svoboda does have many

keywords in the different sections of the book. For example, under

" Personification (of the planets) " on page 87 he has this list:

Sun rules the soul

Moon rules the senses and the emotions

Mars rules power and strength

Mercury rules the rational mind and speech

(and so on)

You don't have to read the book straight through, but you can choose which

pages and topics to review. I use the book all the time as a reference, and

I've been studying Jyotish since the 1970s.

Parashara's Light software has the ability to click on a planet, house, etc

and keywords and phrases will come up on the screen. But the latest version

is slow and cumbersome with many key phrases that are strictly Indian. The

older versions are better and faster, but they aren't sold anymore. I

upgraded to version 7, but mainly use PL 2000, which has much nicer

printouts and fast screen updates.

Rex Bills' book is really not very good for Jyotish. All Bills did was

collect keywords from different tropical sources, and these are often at

odds with the keywords in Dr. J. Lee Lehman's THE BOOK OF RULERSHIPS, which

stays with the traditional meanings.

Already has it. Now I put my nose in it ;-)

Would you say that Lehman's book can be used in sidereal?

Also, what do you think of Levacy's book, Beneath a Vedic Sky?

Oh, yes, of course. It's not strictly tropical or sidereal.
