We all go through periods where it seems necessary to reorient

ourselves in terms of what we want to do and what tools we use to do

that which interests. I wouldn't rush out for more books and more

software until I knew where I wanted to go with astrology. " Make haste

slowly " is the appropriate phrase, I believe.

For my Solar and Lunar Returns I use a freeware program called Riyal32

which is terrific in terms of accuracy and ease of use. Juan Revilla

of Costa Rica has developed this program.

There are several basic approaches to Solar and Lunar Returns, each

has its adherents. If you want to post chart data that you are

currently studying and/or having problems with, it is likely that some

of us might comment and use our approaches to casting charts and

making interpretations -- even the approach taken to use astrological

factors in a chart is up to individual use. I've got quite a few

books on Solar Returns and I have found less commonality and more

diversity among the authors than I would have thought reasonable.

In any case, nobody will ask you to leave the list (we don't expect

anyone to not be civil and polite) for asking questions. So feel free

to post. Therese moderates this list, and would tell you much the

same, I'm sure.

As for your Moon-in-the-Ascendant chart approach, I have seen many

ways of using the Moon. Some people are very attuned to Moon movement

and charts and not to Sun-Solar charts. Why not give us an example.

Charts can be put into the files section as .jpg files, for example.

thats very good advice!

i have the latest and greatest solar fire software and well no time

to read books right now anyway! -

speaking of which

is there a 'preferred' or best vedic/sidereal software program?

i will have to take a look at it - is there a link to his website or

i can just google it. and do you use his software for

any 'preferred' reasons or simply that its 'convenient' accessible

etc?

seems my experience has led me to the same conclusions

wasnt until a sidereal astrologer pointed me in the direction of

using the fagan allan and BIRTH LOCATIONS... did solar returns

(((finally))) start to ad up (am sure there is some debate about this

topic) - if there is more 'current' knowledge or thinking about this

(location of return) subject then please fill me in!

started out studying my solar returns

about 10 years ago and its interesting my 'timeline' of changing

ideas related to it - iow as began to learn more quickly began to

realize that there was not an agreed 'method' and that (in my opinion

atleast) many if not most/all of the (western) authors info/ideas

were wrong! (ie change your destiny by relocating for your birthday! -

any additional/current thoughts on this ?)

i was kidding about that!

and i assumed no one would do this but there always seems to be

that 'one guy/gal' (or group) of individuals w/n the group lol. iow

who dont have the patience or desire to be interrupted in

their 'evolution' of ideas/thinking/study! (and i can relate)

Dave thanks for offerring to discuss some charts -

had just realized that some of the canned 'yearly' VEDIC predictions

were seeming to be so right on in my/wifes lives - overall patterns

etc

for instance

a site i had been reading mentioned that things in the lives of SAG

moon folks (using the vedic 'moon' chart - moon sign on 1st house

cusp) was going to 'stagnate' until the end of november'07...

earlier in the year

(working over 60-80hours/wk and making booku bucks!) i never would

have imagined that this 'simple' yearly prediction would have

any 'significant' relevance to my life whatsoever... but as the year

progressed to about may'07 - and up to this point in time (end of

November) - this statement has been (((profoundly))) accurate and

my 'circumstances' ===> drastically <=== different (reversed - now

poor lol) as well!

it finally occurred to me that these 'simple' sign predictions

were being based on the moon sign on the first house and transits to

that chart (for everyone w/ SAG moon)

anyway i dont mean to ramble on.

just trying to get caught up w/ the times -

either going to completely turn away from using 'western' methods

altogether and do a full 'conversion' to vedic (time relearning,

expense - software/books ETC)... or just continue down the same path

i have been on - using western charts w/ sidereal signs but now

setting these charts up in vedic style/method LOL

thanks again Dave for your reply and kind welcome to the group!

regards
