Guest guest
For anyone who is following the election: I've been taking a (late) look at the times when Hillary and Obama let the public know they were running for the country's highest office. From the traditional Jyotish point of view using rulerships and houses, Obama's chart is decidedly better. Here's why: (1) Aries rises, and Mars is conjoined to the M.C. in the 9th house in trine to the ascendant. Mars is in a strong sign for itself--Sagittarius. (2) There is a stellium of planets in the benefic 11th house: Mercury-Uranus-Rahu-Venus. (Venus is the ascendant for the 1:06 p.m. birth time.) This suggests success and wishes fulfilled. (3) Saturn is partile opposed to the Sun in the 10th. Generally we don't want this aspect in the chart of a hopeful beginning, but Saturn is the 10th lord, and the Sun is the 5th lord. Thus, this very close aspect forms a yogakaraka (very benefic combination) in the chart. Also since Saturn is the 10th lord, it's receiving the full aspect from the regal Sun in 10th. (4) Finally the part of fortune is just at the zenith of this chart, and Jupiter is trine an angular 10th lord. The dispositor of the Moon is the well placed Mars. There is no real negative in this chart. Now for Hillary: (1) At first glance her campaign launch chart appears to be good. Rahu is on the ascendant, and Jupiter is at the zenith. However, considering the rules of Jyotish, Jupiter isn't the best planet for Aquarius rising, and Jupiter is rarely well placed in the 10th because the 10th is Capricorn's natural house. Capricorn is the sign of Jupiter's fall. Very often Jupiter in the 10th brings surprising misfortune. (2) The stellium in Hillary's chart falls in the 12th house. This stellium includes Mercury, Moon (Hillary's 8:02 am 10th lord), Uranus, Venus (natal asc lord) and Neptune. The traditional Jyotish 12th house meaning is loss and expenditure. (3) This stellium is opposed by its dispositor, Saturn in the 6th. There is no way in the view of traditional Jyotish that this can be a positive chart. If only these two charts are considered, Obama will carry the victory flag. I have the times of these charts, but don't remember which site I found them on. If the times are wrong, I hope someone will correct me. I haven't looked at the launch charts in the past, so am only going by the rules of traditional Jyotish rather than experience with this kind of chart. Obama Campaign Launch: Feb 10, 2007 10:13 a.m. CST Springfield, IL Hillary Campaign Launch: Jan 20, 2007 9:30 a.m. EST Chappaqua, NY I've found additional reasons why Hillary's AM chart can well be correct. I may place an article on my web site noting these reasons. I haven't checked past events for Obama except for one or two brief look--not enough to come to any conclusion. However, if the 1:06 p.m. chart is correct, Obama may well be our next president. Therese
