Guest guest
Hello Patrice, From what you said, I am glad I am sidereal Pisces not sidereal Aries. I don't like to be associated with warlike traits like the sidereal Aries. From evolutionary astrology perspective, the tropical Aries has a need to demonstrate courage, so this imply a certain vulnerability as you said. Because if they are already brave, there would be no need to " demonstrate " bravery. From your email address, it looks like you are from France? Is that correct? This is so nice to be able to connect with folks all around the globe on such an intriguing subject like astrology. Guest guest
Hi Patrice and all others on the thread: Just wanted to mention one interesting case study is Marlon Brando. He has Sun in Aries tropically but Sun and stellium in Pisces sidereally. Having read his biography he was anything but melancholic or other such tropical piscean notions. He was a rebel from a young age and a prankster even in his professional life, somehow used his instincts well even though he was a Method actor. The movie that made him famous, as a rough biker character, was also a very Aries kinda role. Was very very moody and on the spur of the moment guy. But there are other lesser known sides of him. He tried to help the native Americans, protested and even got arrested for that. Was once making a movie for UN on India's caste system and was pretty moved by that. I suppose that could be his Piscean empathy side showing. His sensual escapades are of course a legend. I suppose one could call that more Arian? Hard to put this one in a neat category. Thanks for this great discussion ! Cheers Shiv Never miss a thing. Make your homepage.
Guest guest
Hi Shiv! Can you compare Marlon Brando with... George Clooney (Aries sidereal)? Marlo Brando (Pisces sidereal), rebel, yes! Any sign can be rebel... But, he had not politics engagement as George Clooney! Give me a great list of sanguinaries politics natives of sidereal Pisces (tropical aries)? It's very difficult! Irene Cara, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Fergie, Norah Jones, Bette Davis, Marvin Gaye ? Ha!!!
Guest guest
Hi Patrice That's a great point. Speaking of politics one master of that business is Bill Clinton with moon in sidereal Aries.I belive Rush Limbaugh also has Merc in Aries and he has already effected votes in Texas just using his voice!Jack Nicholson has sidereal Sun Aries too and he sure chipped in for Hillary with his utube. But what could have given Brando an Arian edge is his Merc. Aries. Further he had a scorp rising. Actually he just has 2 planets in sidereal pisces, not a stellium as I said earlier. But the Sun and moon are very close, within a degree. Have yet to see Clooney's chart, I will at the earliest chance. But from the way co-stars described him about the shoot of Ocean's eleven/12, he sure fits the bill. He seems to be born with the conviction he is 'it' ) While we are on the subject of pisces, I find it hard to accept Hillary's moon as pisces which comes with a morning birth. Or maybe pisces is after all not that soft and mushy as we usually believe:))Maybe the strong effect of Jup is still there even though in more subdued ways. What do you think.. Guest guest
Hi Shiv, Bill Gates and Steeve Jobs have their Moon in Pisces and their Sun in Air sign sidereal. Moon in Pisces? Informatic (Code source secret, virtual technology, so neptunian). 7/42 presidents US had their Moon in Aries. Clooney... Richard Gere (politic engagement) too! Sun in Leo / Moon in Scorpio (sign of reincarnation). Clooney have her Moon in Sagittarius (Terebellum star). The two politics stars have their Mars in Cancri (4°). Pisces are weathercocks... Their ideas are no fixes as an Aries moon! They are instable personnality... Aries Hillary? Submission to his husband, cocue in public... It's finaly a predestination to win the co " cus " ? An Aries moon will leaved an unfaithful partner... No personnality... No... Moon in Pisces 100%!
Guest guest
Great points Patrice Thanks! Bob Deniro also has a very strong Sun and has supported Obama this time and last election was seen on stage with George W. There sure is connection between Sun and politics. BTW what does mars in cancer do. Its 'fallen' there. Makes someone explosively angry and temperamental? Are there any positive effects? Steve btw has a very strong mars in aries and saturn retro in libra ( exalted) in third house and I believe Leo ascendant making him very charismatic, driven, hardworking and pushing people around ( see the documentry " Pirates of the Silicon valley " Bill has saturn ( exalted) very close to his libran Sun. So both have some strong placements that overcome that pisces moon softness to a great degree. What do you feel. Guest guest
Hi Shiv, You said: " what does mars in cancer do. Its 'fallen' there. Makes someone explosively angry and temperamental? Are there any positive effects? " I have the same question exactly! As you said above, it could make someone exlosively angry and tempermental. That happened to me when Mars in retrograde bothered my moon in November and on and off since. But if there is hope that we can somehow influence a more positive manifestation of this energy what could it be? Could we use that energy to build a garden or a home? Could we commit, settle down and get married (putting down roots, building a family)? Could we take actions toward our security like starting a retirement plan, save for the future? What about buy stuffs to pamper ourselves such as a delicacy, a health tonic, a warm cozy coat for the winter? How about going to a health spas? Or, just become more huggie and affectionate? (Some western astrologer associate Cancer with nurturing and being nurtured) I'm not sure if those will work, but it might be worth a try to cancel out the more negative effect of Mars in Cancer. What do you think? Felicia Shiv <theblisswithin wrote: Great points Patrice Thanks! Guest guest
Hi Felicia Those are some great ideas on how to handle it better. I'd think some water related relaxation seems pretty apt for Mars in a water sign. Reason I asked that was to find out if someone could share something from a personal experience of theirs or clients etc. That's always more authentic than reading websites. But for whatever it is worth here is one such site that gives some info: http://barbarapijan.com/bpa/Topics/Mangala_mars.htm If you have never read a hard core jyotish 'site before, here's my friendly caveat ) It's not for the weak of heart. Don't take everything literally ( that's assuming one can understand it, after about three years of it I can barely even begin to). Keep the anti depressants ready to pop and the therapists number ready by the bedside in case you get nightmares in the middle of the night. Also keep a readily available copy of some 'free-will trumps astrology' kinda article at all times to shake off any low feelings that you will definitely encounter. Read and repeat as many times as necessary. If nothing works, go for a walk, take your cell phone and call Dr. Phil )) I have on occasion thought about opening some sort of Jyotish detox clinics to help the deeply shaken and mortified jyotish venturers. Me, you,Therese, Sari, Patrice and others can go there as a group and make some power point presentations to recruit them to western sidereal astro instead and help the poor souls see some light at the end of the tunnel. You get the idea ) Things are usually better if one reads a western astrologer's ( who was probably an tropical astrologer earlier) take on jyotish rather than an indian astrologer. Guest guest
Thanks for the link, Shiv! Interesting reading there. According to the website, Mars in Cancer is a bad guy. No wonder it's been giving Bettina and I such a hard time while touching our sensitive chart points. Now what you said about hard core Jyotish really surprised me. In that case, I'm glad I learn it from a more modern perspective, merging of its best offerings and the balance from western astrology. Guest guest
Hi Bettina, I've read that Mars in the 1st house can also mean a scar on the body due to accident or operation as well. Have you heard that before? I think you might be right about the house where the inflicted Mars is placed. Tropically, I have a weak Mars (Mars in Pisces) in the 5th house of energy (evolutionary astrology believes that the 5th house, a Leo house, ruled by the Sun, refers to the vital force / energy of the native). However, the sign the weak Mars is in may also describe in more specific terms how Mars is being weakened. I think I have the weakest Mars of all! According to Grant Lewi: Mars tends to disappear in Pisces, and your vitality is likely to be low and jumpy. You tire easily, and thus withdraw a good deal into yourself. Energy can waste itself in brooding, introspection, and fears, if you aren't constantly on guard against these. You should select for yourself activities that don't tax the physical body too much, and learn to follow the ebb and flow of your strength. You can in this way, by being on the qui vive for the tides of your life, go a long way, for when you are not working, you are storing up ideas and vitality in the conscious and subconscious that express later. But when you try to keep going all the time, you lose energy, magnetism and ideas. You shouldn't try for too much physical expression of love, for your energies don't work here any more constantly than in other physical matters. When you're tired, you aren't worth much and tend to think badly of yourself. Master yourself by allowing plenty of time for rest and by being willing to go at a slower pace. Your mind works best in repose and solitude, and you should learn to lapse into both of these gracefully, without allowing them to become brooding and depression of spirits. This is very applicable to me. Felicia Bettina <chiria wrote: The person I refered to in one of my past posts is not explosive or angyry...very focused and disciplined, but has a physical disability. Guest guest
Hi Felicia Actually that comes from the experience of watching people having their first exposure to jyotish. A proper reading with a good astrologer gives some balanced advise but the general info is sort of fatalistic many times. But to be honest I went a bit overboard. Glad you have learnt a lot of good stuff about this.Seems like you have been learning this for a long time? What kind of resources do you use as teaching material. I give some caveat to someone about to engage in it the first time just to prevent some serious shock. I know some people simply left this science after reading some material and never came back. Personally, I have benefited a lot from it. I wish there was more high quality material out there for net access though. Cheers Shiv , Felicia Hong <feliciahong wrote: > > Thanks for the link, Shiv! Guest guest
That is a good point Bettina. Mars is a planet of energy and initiative and when channeled properly on emotional energy of Cancer can result in very powerful focused energy. A sidereal/vedic astrologer once told me the value of having Mars in 3rd house from Arudha Lagna (AL) which infuses a lot of energy into communication. The positive side of that as he mentioned was the potential ability to actually use the inherent capacity of Mars to be a disciplined learner in that area and use stuff like NLP etc. to reach the highest potential. I suppose eventually the idea is to make a wise use of even the so-called bad placements and many indeed do that. One misconception I believe that goes around is that a strong Mars would lead to aggressive tendencies. That actually would be a weak Mars. A real strong Mars through sign, house and aspects would be able to control those non -productive aggressive tendencies and use them selectively in the right amount and at the right time. I have found some interesting corelations between shadbala strength of planets and how people use those energies. Bill Clinton and Obama for example have very high Sun shadbala scores. So do Donald Trump, Bob Deniro, Jack Nicholson, Al PAcino and Martha Stewart. Hillary seems to have her highest shadbala score for Mars and the connection with a fighter image is noteworthy (But that I believe is with a 8 pm birth time, will have to re check). Would love to know your and others' techniques and experiences about this. Thanks Shiv , " Bettina " <chiria wrote: > > The person I refered to in one of my past posts is not explosive or > angyry...very focused and disciplined, but has a physical disability.
