Hello again,

Since I have the western astrology background and is now venturing into the

eastern astrology side, I am just curious if you have found it useful to use

both in your practice. Or, would you recommend sticking with one or the other?

Since there are potential conflicts/differences, do you think it would be too

risky/messy to use both together?

Regards,

Felicia

Sari:

This is a controversial question that has many opinions. There's astrologers

who use both Western astrology and jyotish but separately; they look for the

more concrete things from the Indian chart and the psychological side from

the Western chart. But I don't see no reason why you couldn't see also

psychology from the sidereal chart, it just needs a bit training and

exprerience.

I personally use sidereal Lahiri zodiac, Vimsottari dasha and Indian equal

houses from jyotish, and I probably lean more on the Indian interpretation

about houses. But from the Western astrology I use circular charts, Western

traditional dignities and Western aspects paying attention to whether they

are applying or separating and whether there is transmission of light,

cutting of light, receptions, and that kind of things familiar from Western

traditional horary astrology. So I've basically taken from the both systems

the things that seem to work best and in a most logical way. I think both

systems have common roots, historically. The biggest difference is the

zodiac.

I'll comment more tomorrow, it's been a busy day today.

Best, Sari

Hi Sari,

When you have a chance, would you elaborate on the " of light,

cutting of light " concept that you mentioned? Is this related to

harmonious/inharmonious aspects to the sun and moon?

Regards,

Felicia
