Guest guest
I just realized that some temperament descriptions that I copied from Greenbaum were very negative. Especially the choleric description sounded pretty bad. There are many more inclusive descriptions of temperament that I can post if anyone is interested. I do believe that temperament is mainly in the planets, and only in a fringe way relates to zodiac signs. Therese

Especially his view on Earth is quite different from >what you can find in Western books... -- Yes, Raman's element descriptions mostly stand alone. Raman wrote " How to Judge a Horoscope " in 1940. Since he was born in 1912, he was age 29 when the book was published, hardly old enough to have a complete grasp of astrology. Now that he's gone, we can't ask him how he came up with his definitions! For me, they remain something of a mystery, very interesting, but still a mystery. It's also doubtful that when Raman was older, he gave all those traits to a sign on the 5th house cusp. I know in the years before he died he founded a research organization. I suppose the older we get the more we question astrological concepts. I hope temperament is being discussed on the Classical forums as it's a very important topic for astrologers to think about. It definitely needs to be integrated into today's astrology. Thanks again for the quotes and your thoughts, Sari. I don't have firm convictions on the different temperaments because I haven't studied them enough. Best, Therese
