I started this forum not to get fame or money for myself. By gods grace, I am

quit confortable in both fronts. I was  anguished at the pitifull state of

jyotish and its direction at present.

 

I will consider it a success if I could make even a few persons understand the

real essence of Astrology. They also can help to build it up. Atleast the

ordinary poor souls who seeks advice from will not misguided. After all that is

the purpose of " Jyotish " - jyoti + aksh - Light for the eyes.

 

Girish is doing a great work in his field of activity. I hope that he can expand

the scope of usage of the technology he is using to help others.

 

Kerala Astrologers never tried to make a name for themselves. It is not lack of

English knowledge alone. There are other factors as well. Though things are

changing slowely and so also quality.

 

I don't want to extoll too much about Kerala & its Astrology. But this verse

tells it all.

 

" svaragjnaH shakunagjnashcha daivagjno mantrapaaragaH

keraleevittatha raagjnaM kiirtitaM ratna panchakaM "

 

Knowledge of Swara shastra, Shakuna, Daivagjaanee, Mantra shastra & Kerala

Jyotish are the 5 jewells for a King.

 

The above is from Narapatijayacharyaasvarodya, treatise written about 1100 years

back (900AD) from Ujain.

 

Even I was surprised to see the above in such an old treatise from North India.

 

I shall try my best to make this forum to be very educative for all of us.

Kerala astrology was always popular.It was due to the lack of good command over

English language of Kerala astrologers, The system follwed there was never

exposed completely.Exceptin g a few like late IYER(new technique of prediction),

P.S.IYER there were no good scholars who could express their knowledge in Good

english.So we could not get much gems out of them.

 

I believe kerala astrologers are the best predictors when compared to any other

part of india.They have a highly advanced system in prasna which needs

intelligent application. Scholars like Dasadhyayee author etc origingated in

kerala only.No doubt kerala is the highest literacy state

 

we have good hearted and helpful person in Sureshji who want to share his

knowledge and experience enthusiastically in a systematic manner with a highly

educative approach.He must be busy with his profession and it is good to see

that he contributes quality time to this group which is still in its nascent

stage.

 

As mentioned earlier it is the quality of members not the quantity which stand

in the group and makes it appealing

 

We underwent an exercise yesterday and i saw that you havent aired your opinion

after that.I assume there could be 2 reasons why you havent replied

 

-Either you understood everything in the post and have no doubts or you did not

understand in the post .

 

I would like to request you to put forth your views on the same to take the

discussion further

 

Personal consultations are distractions in a group.Exercises like What Sureshji

started the other day are much useful to learn and understand the method of

analysis.OF late i have constructed a lot of prashna charts when qns were put to

me by friends/families just for collection and to check with the results later

after it occurs though i dont know prashna method of solving.I have only a

collection of friends/families to crosscheck the events/periods of dashas and

transits of major planets.I dont cater to the needs of outsiders/client chart as

my primary motive is to learn astrology the right way and i am not a

professional astrologer.

 

IF the group is interested,we can request Sureshji to post some more prashna

charts or we can share some of our prashana charts and do similiar exercises to

improve our knowledge as well debate and discuss

 

Hope you will take this mail in the right spirit.I expect you to come with good

topics for discussion
