Dear Sreenadh ji,

I am unable to write even in the orange cells of the sheet, it says the cell or

chart is write-protected. When I go to Unprotect Sheet in Tools > Protection,

the system asks for a password. I attach it with this mail so that you may check

it.

Best regards,

Vinay

we can edit only a portion of the sheet - i.e. the orange cells where data entry

write-protected to avoid edit mistakes in formulas that can cause error in

calculation. This is my current understanding. Certainly the whole document is

NOT write protected.

required by anyone I will share the password even to edit the write protected,

formula containing, portions of the sheet. No issues. Some areas of the sheet

are right protected, just to prevent/protect the layman from making edit

mistakes.

Dear Vinay ji, I checked the sheet you send to me. There is no problem with it! The orange colored cells are perfectly editable! Ofcourse it does not allow invalid input (such as text) and allow only valid numbers - that is true. // I am unable to write even in the orange cells of the sheet,// May be the problem is with "trying to write t0 the orange cells" - you are supposed to type only numbers there and not 'text'. May be that is the problem. With valid numeric input for cells that expect numbers and N or Y for cells that expect that value, those sheets works perfectly fine - no issues at all! I am unable to grasp, why you say that those sheets are non-editable, and that you are unable to use them. //When I go to Unprotect Sheet in Tools > Protection, the system asks for a password. // Certainly - because there is no need to unprotect those sheets; because protection applies ONLY to those cells containing formulas etc; cells that shouldn't be edited. For those orange cells were data entry should be done NO PROTECTION is applied, and those cells are perfectly editable! Same is true with the sheet you send to me - I checked it - it is working perfectly fine! Hope this clarifies. Note: I am not uploading any new file, since it is the very same working version of the file I have. A file without any special problem. Dear Sreenadh Ji

I believe by mistake the orange cells also have been protected because in the

Cells wherein we are supposed to put Signs, Degrees every time a pop up window

appears stating that the sheet is protected,

May you please check once and upload again

Thank you

best regards

Dear Karan ji, Since it is working fine at my end, I don't understand what is wrong with the file. Anyway, I have unprotected the sheets and uploaded it again. So please be careful, and don't edit the values in other cells; otherwise the sheet will start giving erroneous results. Dear Sreenadh ji,

Why the previous file was working well at your end and giving difficulty on

Karan ji's & my end may not be so necessary to analyse now that the flaw is not

there in this newly updated file, it is working well at my end, it should

hopefully work well at Karan ji's end too. I will be careful not to edit values

in cells other than the orange ones.

Thanks for all that you are doing.

Best regards,

Vinay
