As per the current statistics the competition is between the already finished thread "AIA Quiz -3" which holds the current record of the moth of 130 posts. The major challenger for the title is the currently running thread on "Rotating the Lagna - A

prediction technique" with 101 posts to its credit. The challenger is on full swing and we may expect a tie or win if it continues in this pace. The Amshayu thread hold the 3rd place with 75 mails, and if merged with the longevity thread of 26 mails the count will increase to 75+26 = 101 one mails. (Commentator: Sreenadh - from AIA pavilion) Ha..Ha... An Interesting Innovative Suggestion:---- What is your opinion about checking the statistics by the end of every month and providing an award such as "Winning Tread Holder Of the Month" or so? The award/reputation/recognition would be that his/her would be displayed in the home page of the group with the words "Winning Tread Holder For The Month Of xxxxx: NAME". It is not necessary that he/she should be the one who posted the most amount of mails in that thread, but it should he/she who should have started that thread. What is your opinion about this suggestion? Respond with reasoning. Ha..Ha... ap, this my trick to generate one more thread with many mails. ;)Love and regards,Sreenadh

Dear Bhaskar ji, //I think Sreenadhji you have changed the Original thread subject> Line from " Rotating the Lagna - A prediction technique" to "Birth date> - and the Importance of Tithi and Nakshatra". Of course this was done> for a good purpose, but all the same...// This does not affect the thread count. All those messages will still be counted as part of the " Rotating the Lagna - A prediction technique" only. So the point is - "We are free to change the subject line, but still the thread will remain the same (because internally maintains a thread id)" Thus even if we change the thread subject line - 1) We can get the added benefit of identifying the correct subject from the Subject line 2) Even all those messages with the changed subject line would be counted as part of the original thread only (and thus will not affect the thread message count) since internally maintains a thread id. Dear Renu ji, //

Good idea...and also shouldn't we give her/him the opportunity to post the quiz

of the month?// That too is a good idea; but won't we loss the chance to provide many people with the opertunity to present the quiz (since Neelam ji, Bhaskar ji etc would be the thread winners mostly); but you idea has also the advantage of giving an answer to the question - "Who should present the next quiz?" the answer to which remains uncertain now. Since it is Neelam ji's domain let her decide on this based on our inputs. Love and regards,Sreenadh

Sreenadh Ji,

Quality is much better than quantity. Many people have commented that they use progression techniquest etc. I request them to take one example and show the Group in detail how to use the different techniques. That ONE email, if it is detailed, will be worth more than thousands of emails in this thread. Chakroborty Ji had done a nice job with his BCP tecnhique ideas, similarly if some one took up the new technique and detailed it along with other progression techniques or natal techniques, THEN it would be the time to celebrate.

-Manoj

Dear Manoj ji,

//Quality is much better than quantity.//

A quality suggestion. I agree.

But this is not true all the time....For example if we consider food, for the

rich - quality matters and for the poor - quantity matters. Then again who rules

a country today? Hardly based on 'quality'..but simply on 'quantity'

Dear Manoj ji,

I am not sure if anybody uses here the Progression technique. Talking

about techniques and using them is a very great seperate matter. One can

write books on swimming but yet may not know how to swim. Actual

progression needs mathematics which is not taught in the Indian

universities (probably excepy BVB, Bombay) of Jyotish. Nadi Jyotish very

rarely people would know all. Varsha phala is again an intricate affair.

So how many actually left to demonstrate us any or all of these

techniques. None. But one would find good usage of such techniques in

book by MC Jain " Karmic Control planets " .

best wishes and regards,

Bhaskar.

Dear Sreenadh Ji,

//Note 1: Regarding the "Lagna Progression" thread, the mails of Chakraborty ji, Sanjeev Ranjan Mishra ji, Sheevani ji, and Vijay Goel ji were all much informative; and I liked specially.//

I completely agree. Apologies if my statement was construed any other way, BUT, if you multiply the above members (5) times, let us say 3 messages each = 15. Let us give you about 10 messages for yourself. So now count = 25. Let us also not forget contributors like Gopi Ji who went back and analyzed Blind Quiz - 3 and posted the message, Bhaskar ji's recent email about MC Jain's book tips and western progressions etc. So add another 15. That gets us about 40. Sanjeev Ji's email was tantalizing and in the hope that he would provide more details, I can give him 5 more points. Total = 45.

Actual number = 140.

Quantity = 140

Quality = 45

PS: This is only meant to invigorate and enliven the conversation.

PS2: It may also be a round about way to increase message count for this thread

PS3: It may also be a clever way for me, who does not know much about progression, to pretend to sound intelligent, but actually filling space with useless emails

Regards,

-Manoj

sreesog <sreesog Sent: Sat, November 21, 2009 9:00:48 AM Re: Top threads of the month

Dear Manoj ji, I agree with you. But in a group and its popularity, quantity also matters and it is liveliness (i.e. active flow of messages) that keeps the group live continuously; along with which count (quantity) comes naturally. But it is innovative ideas that creates active threads and that is why the award is to the thread holder (the one started the thread; the one who made the first post on that thread) and NOT to the one who posted most amount of messages in that thread or on the group. Certainly - in a way - here the award is to quality and not to quantity. But from another perspective the award is to the one who generated most quantity - because he is keeping the group live by speaking about the subject most people are interested in. Thus both matters - quality and quantity. serves the purpose of members with both the perspective - quality centric or quantity centric. Note 1: Regarding the "Lagna Progression" thread, the mails of Chakraborty ji, Sanjeev Ranjan Mishra ji, Sheevani ji, and Vijay Goel ji were all much informative; and I liked specially. Note 2: There could be numerous great contributes in the group. For example Chakraborty ji, Sanjeev Ranjan Mishra ji, Sheevani ji, and Vijay Goel ji etc for the "Lagna Progression" thread. They were all great contributors but was not the thread holders for any major thread on this month; same is the case with you and Gopu ji, Gopi ji etc - great contributes of the month, but not the major thread holders of

the month.Note 3: Bring in an idea to identify the great contributor of the month - if such an idea is possible. I think it is impossible - since perspectives differ. But it is easy to identify the "Major thread holder of the month" based on group statistics (in "Group by topic" view) - and that is why I presented it. Dear Bhaskar Ji,

Thanks for the hint about MC Jain's book " Karmic Control Planets " . I have not

read, that, sounds interesting. Problem living in US is every book costs so much

money because of shipping. SO I have only a hand ful of books.

Dear Manoj ji, //> Quantity = 140> Quality = 45 // You must be right. But without that 140, that 45 is not going to happen. We cannot have the cream without tasting the outer shell. It is that what protects the cream; and in our case causes it as well. We all like the nuts, but without a nutshell the nut is lost. Without that 140, those who can provide that 45 will not land here and contribute. So that 140 is our trick to pocket that 45. land here and contribute. So that 140 is our trick to pocket that

45. We may love that 45, but without that 140 we won't get this

45 and would making round of another useless 1400 in other groups. So

better to have that 45 along with that 140 so that we are saved from the

other 1400 which may not provide us even a 14.ÂÂ

3 messages each = 15. Let us give you about 10 messages for yourself. So

now count = 25. Let us also not forget contributors like Gopi Ji who

went back and analyzed Blind Quiz - 3 and posted the message, Bhaskar

ji's recent email about MC Jain's book tips and western progressions

etc. So add another 15. That gets us about 40. Sanjeev Ji's email was

tantalizing and in the hope that he would provide more details, I can

give him 5 more points. Total = 45.

happen.  We cannot have the cream without tasting the outer shell. It is that

what protects the cream; and in our case causes it as well. We all like the
