I got the entire set of 18 books from Nagpur Prakashan. However, a few points are to be noted: a) The language used is a bit crude. One must not focus much on the expression but the content behind it. b) It is very methodical - Explaining each planet, Bhav, Bhavesh, Shub-Ashubh Vichar (very important as rarely any book give clear guidance on this), Gochar, Prashna etc. c) A very interesting point of view on Exalted planets. d) A very interesting explanation of Spirituality linked with planets, specially Shani, Rahu and Ketu. At the same time, there are also people like me who do not know much about academical astrology, but are able to express themselves better and form an image of being a good astrologer (I am speaking seriously and with humour too, both). So thats the whole story, actually. Actually he has mixes up many concepts and is highly influenced by western thoughts. I donot agree with him specifically here therefore i left this book. It will be better if other books are given first try to get hold over planets and bhavas. Anyway based on that let me provide with my sincere feedback. Positive points -------------------- * Katwe ji is a SINCERE and PRACTICAL astrologer and his books are worth reading for any practical astrologer. * He has a fairly good understanding about medieval asto classics (but not much of the books before that) and his words are usually based on 4 sources - 1) medieval astro classics 2) the info he was able to accumulate from east or west or anywhere 3) his logical (and illogical) thoughts on the availed knowledge 4) his practical experience. (He is strong in the first and last points, average in the second and third) * His books are unique (only to the practical astrologers who has enough knowledge based on astro classics and enough practical experience) and raises some valid questions, doubts and provides with good understanding and innovative points regarding many simple but useful info bits. * These books are fairly worth the money (only to an experienced astrologer) and could be considered a waste of money by the beginners and those who just started practicing astrology. [Let us remember that, if we search for gold it is found along with lot of mud; and it is our choice and capability whether to see the mud or gold. The chances are that most of the people will see the mud only and start blaming that they are not getting the gold; and a few would be satisfied by the bits of gold they get. It all depends on the perspective]. Cost of books: Rs.1100/- Please note that, it cannot be said that these books deliver, more than the price we pay for them; it is just that it is just worth the money - not more not less. Negative points: -------------------- * Katwe ji's understanding about ancient astro classics before Mihira, is poor and he almost never quotes from them (except from Yavana hora) * Katwe ji does not seem to had a proper guru, evident from the fact that he misses many fairly easy to see and understand points. What ever he learned and acquired seems to be mostly part of his own learning/understanding effort. Thus on review we realize that Katwe ji is NOT authentic and not an authority to depend upon. But the info and throughs he share with us are worth reading because he is sincere and practical. * More than a 'book of knowledge', his books can be called 'book of doubts' or 'book of questions' - ofcourse many of them worthy (guiding us in proper direction) and many of them unworthy (because he misses many straight-to-see traditional answers) * In a way the books seems to be systematic (they are in the proper order; almost in the same way I was trying to compile) but un-systematic since at many places he does not provide reference, at numerous places he provides only the translation but not the original quote etc etc. It could have been made much much better (but may be one should be satisfied with what he have, and thankful to what he got - rather than expecting more) Hope this small review would be useful to someone. Note 1: KN Rao should be appreciated for providing good regarding Katwe ji, since a sincere, good, practical, unique, hardworking, aged astrologer like Katwe ji definitely needs to be respected. Note to the beginners: Please don't expect too much from these books, you are not going to find it and not going to get it. Note to the experts: Please don't expect too much from these books, because mostly you would be getting what you already got plus something new here and there and you will find many straight logic missing, questions and doubts more than answers, and many errors/flaws along with much useful info. Note to those who seek and are ready to find Perls even in a heap of mud; to those who have special eye for the secrets and special views: Definitely you will find much useful info in it, and it would be a catalyst to your thoughts and understanding.
