The 'buddhi' karak 5th lord Jupiter is placed in the 8th along with mercury. Mercury as the 2nd lord is the karak of 'pragya'. The child is going through the Jupiter / mercury dasha also. Therefore these two planets are adversely effecting his 'buddhi'. His parents should , on his behalf after sankalp, do : [ 1 ] Bury in a cemetery a little gur { jaggery } in a glass bottle with a glass lid. [ 2 ] Offer at a temple a handful of chana dal for 7 days regularly. He is going through the Rahu years { LK concept }. Rahu is placed in the 12th. Therefore : [ 1 ] Keep in his room a little saunf in a red thaili. The following two general upaya can also be done for concentration in studies: [ a ] Wear a small square piece of copper in a silver chain for concentration in studies. [ b ] Wear round the neck a 6 mukhi rudraksh between two 5 mukhi rudraksha in a white thread. Wear it on any Monday of the bright half of the month { shukla paksha} after worshiping Lord Shiv.
