Dear Mr.Michael Gressett,

Lila or Leela of the Lord does not merely mean his sporting or passtimes but includes subtle philosophy. For Example, Lord KRISHNA killed his uncle Kamsa is not merely destroying ADHARMA and protect Dharma.Kamsa was though considered Lord Krishna as his enemy, he was constantly thinking Lord KRISHNA through NINDA STUTI which is also a kind of Bhakti according to Shaastra through which the Lord granted Kamsa Moksha. In KRISHNA Avatara only two persons attained Moksha one being Kamsa and the other being Pitamaha BHEESHMA who practised Dharma never svering away from DHARMA who is considered to be a model of DHARMA.The AshtaVasus due to curse were born as children of Ganga and Emperor Santanu and being taken over

by their mother Ganga and killed in River Ganga 7 of them were liberated from their Curse. But, while The Eightth Vasu Devavrta was born and taken over by his mother Goddess Ganga and was about to imerse him the river Ganga was stopped b y Emperor Santanu and according to the agreement between Santanu and Ganga during tnheir marriage that Goddess Ganga will do anything and Emperor Santanu should not questin her only then she will say with him but if he questions her act immediately she will leave Santanu,, Goddess Ganga handedover Devavrta in the hands of Santanu and left him.Later on, after he grew up and made the Pratigjna that he will never marry he attained the name Bheeshma and never again married or or accepted the crown. So, goes on the MAHAABHAARATA.Bheeshma was a Paragon of Dharma.People know the reason why Bheeshma was granted Moksha by the Lord but wonder why Kamsa was granted Moksha by the Lord. For

constant Ninda Stuti is also a kind of Bhakti, which is philosoiphy behind the Lila of the Lord. So, there are innumerable Lilas by the Lord which are underlied by subtle philosophy which all cant understand.

Dear Vedic Friends, Here is something I copied from Wikipedia. I wish to hear comments. Presuming there is truth to what follows, I want to know--are the two different ways of describing Lila necessarily very different? What is the relation between the two? "Lila (Sanskrit: लीला), or Leela is a concept within Hinduism literally meaning "pastime", "sport" or "play". It is common to both non-dualistic and dualistic philosophical schools, but has a markedly different significance in each. Within non-dualism, Lila is a way of describing all reality, including the cosmos, as the outcome of creative play by the divine absolute (Brahman). In the dualistic schools of Vaishnavism, Lila more simply refers to the activities of God and his devotees, as distinct from the common activities of karma."
