" You have, as such, to substantiate it with proper proofs and not ask others to prove it for you! As such, pl. do give the exact references of Kaushitaki Brahman, quoting the original mantras with their translation that suggest that Mahashivartari is to be celebrated on Winter Solstice Day, by which you mean Uttarayana day. Another interesting point that rises is as to why have you been silent till date regarding Maha-shivaratri being celebrated on any other day except for the Winter Solstice Day by Lahiriwalas if you had been advised by Kaushitaki Brahman to celebrate it on the shortest day of the year? For example, during 2009 itself, Lahiri Maha-Shivaratri was celebrated on Monday, February 23, 2009! Was that the Winter Solstice Day according to you? If not, why did you remain (and still are!) silent that the Hindus were/are celebrating an important festival like Mahashivaratri after more than two months of the actual date, as per “Kaushitaki Brahmin (sic!)? Then again, Lahiriwalas also will celebrate Mahashivaratri on February 12 in 2010! Is that the day of Winter Solstice according to you, said to have been prescribed by Kaushitaki Brahmin, which you have yet to substantiate? Why did you not muster some courage to tell all and sundry that Lahiri Mahashivaratri will be celebrated on wrong day in 2010 also? Why are you just singling out the “New Vedic panchanga”, which is actually as per dharmashastras, instead of the whims and fancies of Lahiriwalas or Ramanawalas etc.?
