Dashadhyayi Covering more than 10 Adhyayas

Though Dashadhyayi, means 10 adhyayas(Chapters),while interpreting

the 10 chapters,Acharya explains interlinking shlokas,from the later

adhyayas as well as.Moreover he will give us a clue and key on how

to interpret those shlokas.Thus the malayalam translation that i am

having contains Varahamihira in full.Moreover the translator also

quotes -Saravalai-Bhataolpala etc to comapare and drive the point

home.Thus it is a valuable book.

 

I will give you you one relevant and concrete example,which as per

me should help us in arriving at a conclusion.

 

Dashadhyayi kara is explaining,Chapter 5 (Janmadhyaya) shloka 6 of

Varaha hora.''Na LagnaMinduncha Gurur nireekshathe'' -This is about

Jaraputhra.Here commentator says - Chandrassya Guru Vargasthithirapi

nishidhye - Chandra should not be even in the shadvargas of Guru -

Guru is Satwa,Njana Swaroopa and Brahmana Varna swami -So

Jarsanthathi should not be predicted.

 

Now our interest -From here Dashadhyayi kara directly refers to to

Chapter 21(Please note) - Anishtadhyaya from where you had quoted 2

shlokas.Shloka 5 starting with -

 

''Asitha Kujayor Vargesthasthe Sithey Tadaveekshithe Parayuvathiga''.

(Thatha cha Garggi - and links to Chandra in Guru

Vargas for Jarasanthathi)

Commentary - ''AthraSita Kujayor Drishtathwe Drashta vyasya thayo:

Vargasthithirapyoktha Thatha thrapi chinthaneeyam''

 

Now the above Asitha Kujayor is the interesting one -

Full explanation is - Apart from such a Shukra getting drishti from

Kuja/Saturn and placed in the seventh from lagna,its Vargasthithi

belonging to those grahas has also to be thought of.Hence to be

simple shloka means - Shukra is placed in the 7th from Lagna.It has

to be aspected by Saturn and Mars.It is not enough .It has to be

situated in the Shadvargas of Saturn or Kuja as well.

 

Now if such an explanation from Dashadhyayi kara is not present -

what will contemporary astrologers say!.They will say Vargesthasthe

means 7th in six shadvarga Charts and Saturn and Mars should aspect

that shukra in six divisional charts!!!.

 

It has been elaborated in numerous shlokas,that Grahamshas are

AMSHAKA sambandhas on to a Rashi.Aspect is one kind of

relationship.Varga is another.We know where an aspect can happen.

Dear Pradeep,

 

First thing first. It is good if Dashaadhyaai commentator has commented

on later adhayaayas. So what does he say about the shloka I quoted. has

he skipped comment on it?

 

Does he say specifically about shadavargas when he says Vargasthite/ If

that be so does he not accept Varaha Mihira " s hora which has horas of

only Surya and Chandra and then never could Chandra be in Varga of Guru

or Shukra in teargassed of Shani or Kuja?

 

You have not indicated about what the learned commentator say about the

shloka that I have given from adhyaaya 19. shloka 4. I think the meaning

of the learned Varaha Mihira is very clear. There is no ambiguity here.

But if the commentator differs I would like to know his opinion.

 

Again I have given many shlokas that do not talk about rasi amsha

sambandha for a yoga to happen. What does the learned commentator say

about that?
