Guest guest
Theory Experts Vs Predictors 2 Dear Prafulla Bhai Namaskar 1. 1) What happens with Theories is that we get so carried away that we think that is the most correct form ever & become biased and also preach as we find it working in our `Match Fixing Astrology' that even I have practiced. 2. 2) Then we Teach to Others who again teach to others. Let me give an example of Parrot Astrology. 3. 3) There was this rage on Lists that fast on the day of UL and one would get married within a year, everyone started repeating it. Then everyone started prescribing it to everyone as it was easy to prescribe that. Then some even reported that ohhh they got married by doing that remedy, very few came forward that it did not happen. 4. 4) Now the question we must ask against this theory has this theory been tested on 5000 cases, whats the success ratio, are there any other criterias or just blind following of this single criteria/ mantra. Do we know how many types of UL are there, how they are calculated and when they are to be used in which circumstances. 5. 5) Who will bear the SIN of the Remedy not working when we prescribed it to gullible people of these lists. 6. 6) How many peoples lives were spoilt and they even left astrology and hated it later, some of them I hear had been appointed Gurus and the remedy did not even work on them, now were they honest in saying the Theory did not work. best wishes Sunil John Mumbai
Guest guest
Dear Sunil John Please read my reply underneath your notes. > > 1. 1) What happens with Theories is that we get so carried away > that we think that is the most correct form ever & become biased and > also preach as we find it working in our `Match Fixing > Astrology' that even I have practiced. [Prafulla] It is quite understandable to become fascinated with the new theories, interpretations or dictum for jyotish students. But the pleasure comes with additional burden of not getting prejudiced / biased or say fanatic. Each jyotish student has to undergo these process; and with the maturity - the balance is also drawn. The biggest issue is not the analytical skills, understanding language(sanskrit) or persistence; but is the patience of observing results. But Sunil - in modern age, patience is depleting. You, on another thread mentioned - Shri Rao taking 25 years to present Char Dasa. Does all of us, have the required patience. So Jyotish will become a cooking book; each day - new recipe..and if anyone who likes the taste that day - is he willing to eat the same over the years to conclude its effects on the health? So Jyotish is going cricket ways - quick results are the rules of the game. Player batting well at 20/20 will end up earning (name, fame, money etc) much more than a true Test player. But what to do ..we must accept the reality. > 2. 2) Then we Teach to Others who again teach to others. Let me > give an example of Parrot Astrology. [Prafulla] The problems are compounded. A very few know correct sanskrit interpretation; Shlokas are expressed very consiely. Most sages differ from each other on their interpretation. So it becomes all the more challenging for any astrologer to put forth his model on theory. So it becomes prudent to work on blind charts, and observe predictions. Parrot astrology - will always be the practice, when astrologer - will like to rely heavily on shloka and references - often miss the consistent applications. It is obvious - not for their fault, but lack of its test. It is easier to refer shloka and 10 references; but difficult to show its working. and Exhibiting shloka always demonstrates astrologer's knowledge - so part of marketing and popularity package. Isn't it? if you go to downtown traditionalist's (astrologers) - they do not refer you 10 shlokas, but will predict better than people into knowledge demonstration focus. But they are badly marketed souls. So each one of us are pursuing jyotish from different objectives. and We got to accept and live with it. > 3. 3) There was this rage on Lists that fast on the day of UL > and one would get married within a year, everyone started repeating it. > Then everyone started prescribing it to everyone as it was easy to > prescribe that. [Prafulla] so many variants for prediction will always be confusing, if any variant has suspect definition / interpretation. Jyotish students must guard their caution. > 5. 5) Who will bear the SIN of the Remedy not working when we > prescribed it to gullible people of these lists. > 6. 6) How many peoples lives were spoilt and they even left > astrology and hated it later, some of them I hear had been appointed > Gurus and the remedy did not even work on them, now were they honest in > saying the Theory did not work. [Prafulla] If you vist any forums on orkut / etc - most people sharing knowledge have little experience..and they prescribe remedies and predictions like doctors do to the patients. The remedies includes mantras - without even knowing the native. Recently, I had opportunity to discuss VRY charts on a community; and most were applying partial yoga and proving ..and suggesting remedies. They were copying the text from web and producing their interpretations / remedies. Can someone really ask them - if the remedies they suggested work or not? or even the predictions worked or not? Same happened with interpretation through UL - I am still waiting for feedback. But sir - in internet jyotish - fast paced society with hunger to get quick name by publishing is one of the biggest reasons. It is all about marketing and packaging. regards / Prafulla
