Guest guest
Namaste All Jyotish Group currently suffers from moderation. Till the matter is sorted out, I have created a groups titled " Hora Shastra " which will be moderated not by one person, but, by many persons. I propose Sri Chandrashekhar to be one of the moderators, along with our senior members of this group. Group Name: Hora Shastra Group Email: horashastra It is an attempt to infuse some discipline. I also propose the following names as moderators/co-owners of this group: 1. Sri David Hawthorne 2. Sri Sunil John 3. Sri Satya Sai Kolachina 4. Sri Manjunath Sharma along with Sri Chandrashekhar Sharma These members have shown restraint and maturity under trying conditions. Other members can propose some names to. This way this group will be a truly democratic one, but, away from abuse that has become the bane of Jyotish Group. If it acceptable to members, then, they may take lead in joining this group and actively participating in the same. Please remember it isn't my group and I would be happy only being a member. This is your group. If this does not seem as a plausible solution, we can dump the idea. Thanks and Regards Bharat

Guest guest
Namaste Sri Prashant Kumar I know only very few names in the Jyotish circle. I never wish to open another group when fine groups on Jyotish are available. Nor am I a Jyotisha of such a level to guide a group in Astrology. I started this group for Astrology and not for me. This is purely my idea and I want to free this group from one single individual. In fact, I have already edited the membership of Sri Ash (of Krushnaji's Ashtakavarga system) to be a Moderator. He is already a moderator of a wonderful group on astrology and brings with him loads of experience and knowledge. If mature people moderate the group, we will be able to enjoy jyotish more and abuses less. In this group, the only targeting that shall be allowed is on jyotish principles and personal attacks will not be tolerated. Thanks and Regards Bharat On 8/20/07, astro desk <astro.prashantkumar wrote: > > Bharat > > I wish u well and hope u do well and the team u named is a good one > fortunately u have not put my name here, else as usual the Jealous group > will target me as the brain behind this I hope u can state this also that > it > is ur own idea to create a democratic group with astrology centric motive > and no one else is there behind this move, in fact i am a member of the > jealous group too but inactive due to time constraints. did try to help > when > I can yet am targeted. > > I had face many such slights by the same gang in 2 other groups > > I can enroll in any future group only after Jan next yr as I have no time > till then this the gang also knows yet targets me > > I cam here because of the gang's cry for help on the divisional charts > they > posted all over the groups > > this group as such has not much in it so can visit this on and off slowly > will fade out here, I will pref contributing to reading more in a few > sites > when time permits, topics r useless as long as moderation is not in place > > best wishes > > On 8/20/07, Bharat - Hindu Astrology <astrologyhindu<astrologyhindu%40gmail.com>> > wrote: > > > > Namaste All > > > > Jyotish Group currently suffers from moderation. Guest guest
I am more than happy to see another group that is diplomatic and also free from abuse. The group has become a dissenting situation and it is only best to form a new group. I agree Satya and David Hawthorne as well as Chandrashekharji would be excellent moderators for the group. I hope I can participate in this group and will help see to it that no abuse is carried forth with regards to the group members participating. I am in no means trying to interfere with another group forming. I hope to see strong leadership from these people which I no doubt will occur. I know david hawthorne very well and he is a very kind and diplomatic man who would not fall prey to cliques or any other manipulative methods of group dynamics. I sincerely hope this group forms. namaskar, __________ Raja G. Gursahani *: 314.761.3134 (Clovis, CA) *: rajagursahani(atgmail.com)
Guest guest
It is people like you who are to be responsible for the disturbances caused in groups. You had abused my parents without provocation, called them as participants in illegal activities. You are the cancerous sores of the body which have to be healed. , " Raja Gursahani " <rajagursahani wrote: > > I am more than happy to see another group that is diplomatic and also free > from abuse. Guest guest
All groups are fine, if decent people like you behave in a manner which is befitting. Opening an other group is not the solution, wherever one stays, if he is not able to defend himself against abusers, then all territories are lost. before talking otherwise of this Group, one should remember that if this was strictly moderated, then you would not have been allowed to talk or form a group or invite members on this territory which itself you are using to form and invite group. You wish to free this group from one individual ? Are you God ? If you have the strength and good will, then free this group from the abusers, and these are those who hover around you, but you choose to remain silent when they abuse any member without thought or provocation. And now you are talking of one individual ?I have seen the astrological content of the other friends of yours here, and it is good to have one person knowing his job well, rather than 5 -7 duds doing nothing. You have made me sad by using these words " want to free this group from one individual " which I know are pointed towards me. if Dharma was at your side, you would have said " I will close all targeting from zealous astrologers towards one individual " All the best for your new group. I hope it starts early, so that this group becomes free of malice and abuse. Guest guest
Namaste Sri Bhaskar Please understand what is being said: When I said that I want to free the NEW group from one single individual, it means " I want to free the group from Myself " . That means that this group will not be controlled by one person. This also means that the NEW group will not run according my own personal biases. The plan is to create 10-15 moderators and also 3-4 co-owners of the group. Such that maturity prevails and the group does not run as per whims and fancies of one person. I hope the matter is clear now. Thanks and Regards Bharat On 8/20/07, Bhaskar <bhaskar_jyotish wrote: > > All groups are fine, if decent people like you > behave in a manner which is befitting. Guest guest
Dear Bharat For some time now I have not got involved with the list due to first of all offensive porno mails landing on the list, as happened earlier in the year, then the addition of members whose task seemed to be a campaign to either dominate and control the list, and use it as a personal stage of performance, or else usurp it. It seems that the campaign to overtake the list has at least succeeded if it has to be changed to a new one when current membership cannot be screened or moderated to eliminate those with wrong motives for joining. The jyotish list was commended years ago for promoting good jyotish and you may recall that Ben Collins himself received honours for running the list whilst in India, so how sad that it has degenerated into the current exchanges of personal attacks and endless diatribes of griping and complaining which alienate those of us who purely want to discuss this noble science. There is a saying 'in order to eliminate the bad, proceed with the good' but if good people are leaving then what is left? margaret - Bharat - Hindu Astrology Monday, August 20, 2007 7:27 AM Re: Re: Moderated Group Namaste Sri Bhaskar Please understand what is being said: When I said that I want to free the NEW group from one single individual, it means " I want to free the group from Myself " . Guest guest
1) How many are doing good jyotish here currently since last 6 months? 2) what is the meaning of doing good jyotish ? 3) how many good members have left the list since last 6 months who were doing good jyotish ? 4) how many remain here who are doing good jyotish ? 5) Of those talking since last 2 days, how many of them are doing good jyotish ? 6) what will one get by campaigning to over take the list ? 7) What can be the motive behind it ? 8) How many good astrologers remain here, who can be shifted to another group ? Guest guest
Namaste Margaret The reason is that the list isn't moderated and it has become a free for all forum. In such a case, either we wake whosoever is the moderator from this long slumber or we take the list some place else and make it fertile ground for ideas and jyotish research and not for abuse of members. It is for this reason, I would want mature and understanding persons to be the moderators. In fact, upon someone's suggestion, I am inviting a non-jyotish person to be a moderator too. Such that he/she remains away from the discussions and likes-dislikes of fellow members. Hope you will start contributing in the new list soon and also help in its moderation by suggesting members who are capable or by being a moderator yourself. Thanks and Regards Bharat On 8/20/07, Marg <margie9 wrote: > > Dear Bharat > > For some time now I have not got involved with the list due to first of > all offensive porno mails landing on the list, as happened earlier in the > year, then the addition of members whose task seemed to be a campaign to > either dominate and control the list, and use it as a personal stage of > performance, or else usurp it. > > It seems that the campaign to overtake the list has at least succeeded if > it has to be changed to a new one when current membership cannot be screened > or moderated to eliminate those with wrong motives for joining. > > The jyotish list was commended years ago for promoting good jyotish and > you may recall that Ben Collins himself received honours for running the > list whilst in India, so how sad that it has degenerated into the current > exchanges of personal attacks and endless diatribes of griping and > complaining which alienate those of us who purely want to discuss this noble > science. > > There is a saying 'in order to eliminate the bad, proceed with the good' > but if good people are leaving then what is left? > margaret > - > Bharat - Hindu Astrology > <%40> > Monday, August 20, 2007 7:27 AM > Re: Re: Moderated Group > > Namaste Sri Bhaskar > > Please understand what is being said: > > When I said that I want to free the NEW group from one single individual, > it > means " I want to free the group from Myself " . Guest guest
Namaste Sri Sudhir Jyotish is not a matter of show-off of knowledge. It is best that we not bring it down to such a level. If a member wrote a book, it is natural for the member to inform the other members. Same goes for any astrological discussion groups, articles, conferences, etc. Can it be equated to the level of abuses by members here? I do not think so. Guest guest
Dear Bharat, Thank you for the kind invite, we shall see. I get many invites to new forums but find time limited and have to prioritise my astrology work above list subscription, as I'm sure many others do too. It takes a lot of time to write to forums and I find that often I have many other projects taking time and energy, which limit my involvement on this list anyway. I am sorry to see such notable people as Finn, Chandrashekhar and a few others leave, who have made magnificent and significant contributions. This is unprecedented as in years gone by there were the usual disruptions, but never as long lasting, or as unpleasant as the recent ones. As Finn said we need an environment which is conducive to intelligent exchange and constructive ideas about astrology only, if jyotish is to flourish. Not only this but a good jyotish must of course be of equanaminous state of mind to produce good results, and the environment should support and nurture this equanimity otherwise balance will be lost. best wishes M - Bharat - Hindu Astrology Monday, August 20, 2007 12:00 PM Re: Re: Moderated Group Namaste Margaret The reason is that the list isn't moderated and it has become a free for all forum. Guest guest
Dear Marg, Well said, I differ on one point. Equanimity cannot be gained by environment which is SOUGHT FOR. Good wife cannot be gained by re-marrying. One has to find the goodness in the wife which one already has. Equanimity is to be gained in the atmosphere where we are already present. A good jyotish certainly needs a equanaminous state of mind, but good jyotishis like that are never allowed to mantain these, because stones are thrown at the tress which bear fruit, this is the law of the world. And always uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. For complete equanaminous state of mind, one has to go where the jyotishis cannot go unless they leave the jyotishi part for good, and become Yogis. This would be a step further and the ultimate for any good jyotishi, and once this state is attained, then there is no jyotish knowledge required to KNOW. KKNOWLEDGE comes from within, then. To attain the above, I, You or they, he and she all will have to leave jyotish and spend time in meditation , or else leave the Forums, and go to some isolated places on earth where , we can attain such mind and remain undisturbed. best wishes, Marg. , " Marg " <margie9 wrote: > > Dear Bharat, > > Thank you for the kind invite, we shall see. Guest guest
What a great discovery you have made. Albert Einstein would be showering flowers on you. Dont look more than necessary. Dont think more than necessary. I am not Marg. At times when one is thinking about someone, it is possible for one to make such ,mistakes. Already there has been no astrological content in most of these mails except advising-advising -advising and preaching-preaching-preaching and I have got fed up of non educational or non academic content and having to reply to nonsense mails.. I am one fathers son and dont resort to double email ids or fakes ids. So never talk to me like that. Also I dont fear anyone except God and any bad act,so theres no need for me to take sheeps clothing, when already I am a Lion. I hope to see you replying yourself at least 5 times as you have done on other subjects here, loooooooooong after serious people have stopped responding to you. Guest guest
Dear Tarunji, Someone hacked my email id 2 weeks back and after realising it today,I just changed my e mail id pass word. Though I dont think he has written any nonsense to anyone, yet I find certain changes, for instance I was a member of 76 Forums a month back, but today I just have 45 Forums on my Web Page of My Groups, and I have not been d from any. God knows how people manage to do all this, and how they find the time and inclinations for such activities. I hope Marg writes and introduces herself/himself properly to the Forum,so that the genuine good people do not mistake me. regards, Bhaskar. , " Bhaskar " <bhaskar_jyotish wrote: > > Dear Tarunji, > > I will not do any such act, as to shock > anyone.
