I have long been searching for this but not been able to get it. Also, if you know which software calculates Vakrabala and Gunapinda pls direct me. I presume Raman Suprajama is also a member of this group, if he sees this mail, maybe he can educate us. In case the above topics are repeated from your recent posts pls overlook as I have not been able to read posts. best wishes Sunil John Mumbai

Guest guest
Dear John, You may try books by LR Chawdhuri , the initiator of Systems approach. I think he may have the app.formula in his book " Transits " . You may also try Elementary astrology by Late Shri SuryaNarayan Rao. Grandfather of BV Raman. I do not remember having come across this term " Vakrabala " to ring any bell, actually. Not much well read. You come up with strange Queries. Takes out the sweat of one. regards, Bhaskar. , " suniljohn_2002 " <suniljohn_2002 wrote: > > > Om Datta Guru > > Dear Bhaskar, > > Thanks > > Would u know or anyone know where any reference is given for Vakrabala > calculation in the available classics. > > Writing n reading since today is holiday > > best > > SJ > > > , " Bhaskar " <bhaskar_jyotish@> > wrote: > > > > Dear John, > > > > I have never done any such calculation, so > > would not be able to guide anyone in this regard. > > Glad to see you writing . > > > > regards, > > Bhaskar. > > > > > > , " jjnet2000_in " jjnet2000_in@ > > wrote: > > > > > > > > > Om Datta Guru > > > > > > Dear Bhaskar, Mr. Pathi & Friends > > > > > > I see that the topic is on Retrogression, would you be kind enough > to > > > show to calculate Vakrabala. Guest guest
Om Datta Guru Dear Bhaskar Thanks for ur kind mail. The initiator of Systems approach is VK Chawdhary, i presume u meant the other LR Chadhuri who has written many books. Gunapinda is written about in Jatakadeshamarga but I was looking for a software which can do that. The late legend Subramanium Shastry has given some stress on it in his commentary. Re Vakrabala I am told (my source can be wrong) that BV Raman placed his greatest prediction that is World War 2 on the basis of Vakrabala. Shri VAK Iyer has also written on Vakrabala percentage in one of the old issues but could not find any article where he has written on how to calculate it. Although Shri V A K Iyer was best friend of Patel and used to live near by so presuming that Patel saheb knew the answer unfortunately I could never probe deeper with Patel saheb on it. > You come up with strange Queries. > Takes out the sweat of one. No intention on sweating u (lol) but mentor has been driving me around this question since 1 yr and i have not been able to solve so when the topic now was on retrogression I thought i might ask u all. Last year i had asked Chandrashekhar and Pradeep, they were also not able to answer so i thought since now new members are here they might be able to help. I had also asked this query on Sohamsa list if i remember well and even there none could answer so the query is bogging my mind lol n would be grateful if someone can solve it. Could u or any member point out which is the best translation of Jatakadeshamarga best wishes Sunil John Mumbai , " Bhaskar " <bhaskar_jyotish wrote: > > Dear John, > > You may try books by LR Chawdhuri , > the initiator of Systems approach. > I think he may have the app.formula > in his book " Transits " . > You may also try Elementary > astrology by Late Shri > SuryaNarayan Rao. Guest guest
Namaste Sunil Under Shadbala, we calculate the chestha bala. Under this heading we calculate the Vakrabala in which 60 virupas are given to a graha that is retrograde and haven't preceded into the previous sign. 30 virupas are given to a graha which is retrograde and has preceded into the previous sign. I am sure you and other members know this, so there must be another Vakrabala calculation method that you may have in mind. Can you tell me which book of Sri Subramanyam Shastry has he mentioned the vakrabala and its calculation? Thanks and Regards Bharat On 10/3/07, jjnet2000_in <jjnet2000_in wrote: > > Om Datta Guru > Dear Bhaskar > Thanks for ur kind mail. Guest guest
Dear John, Nothing is inaccessible in astrology. This depends on the Urgency of enquiry, time spent on the Query and inclinations. I have stopped reading the classics,a long back. Maybe at times in the night I pick up Mansaagri or Jatak Parijat once in six months, that also a translation with Purports. I have not yet gone over the basics properly, which serve my purpose, and would like to go over again and again to them. Big names mean nothing to me cause I have not yet reached that stage in my studies. I enjoy reading the translations by BV Raman, KN Rao, Santhanam, Bhasin, etc. and have not yet read them properly. These people have already read the Classics, and I would like to read their experiences, which is enough for me. I believe in simple astrology for day to day matters. But I appreciate your quest and search for what is not commonly available. When a person is into such typ of research then some new Rules come forth, which can help others like me, who are not into research work, but like to enjoy through others experiences and learning. I have got I think 2 translations of JatakdeshMarga, but will have to search for these, among my books, kept at various places in my house, which is causing lot of problems to my better half, as I take up all the space with my unmaterialstic hobby which gives not enough returns to make the people around me happy. But in any case, I cannot vouch for which is the best. Hope You understand my position, that I am a simple Simon astrologer with simple tools, at my disposal. best wishes, Bhaskar. , " jjnet2000_in " <jjnet2000_in wrote: > Om Datta Guru > Dear Bhaskar > Thanks for ur kind mail. If anyone has it pls tell. Re simple astrology for day to day matters, Vakrabala and Gunapinda form part of the basics, since most of us do not have traditions of 10-12 generations we tend to think that the above two are high level but I am told astrologers in Rajasthan were calculating Gunapinda when they prepared Janma Kundali (talking about 100-150 yr old charts, infact i search for such old charts as one can learn from them). Just for education of members some of who might not know Gunapinda, it is used to calculate the effects of a Bhava, so this is pretty basic astrology. and so is the case with Vakrabala > But I appreciate your quest and search for > what is not commonly available. Guest guest
OM Datta Guru Namaskar Bharat, Finally we hear from u. Did u disappear for some tapas in the himalayas a) Yes this is not the calculation of Vakrabala, the one i talk about is in exact percentages. > Can you tell me which book of Sri Subramanyam Shastry has he mentioned the > vakrabala and its calculation? b) If u read my previous mail it does not talk about subramanium Shastry and Varkabala, it talks about Jatakadeshamarga translation by Late Subramanium Shastry and Gunapinda is mentioned there. Would u know any software which calculates it. I would like to test if the Gunapinda method works though to be honest as one goes further into it, one comes across Samhara Nakshatras and here one finds two sets of Samhara Nakshatras so which one to take I am confused. best wishes Sunil John Mumbai , " Bharat - Hindu Astrology " <astrologyhindu wrote: > > Namaste Sunil > > Under Shadbala, we calculate the chestha bala.
