Guest guest
Dear Babu, Of course, I remember you well :-) My sincere condolences on the passing of your sister. I realise what a loss this is for you as you were so close. I hope you can take comfort in the fact that she's now in the arms of God and her long suffering is over. As for any pujas that might be appropriate at this time I would leave that to other members more familiar with Hindu (last rights?) to advise you...I'm quite out of my depth in this regard, I'm afraid. I miss her terribly and wish to know whether she is OK where ever she is and, therefore, have asked the group. She was born in JINJA, UGANDA on 14/08/1956 at 15:15. I was at her bedside when she was going, felt my hand on her hand and face told her 'Please go peacefully and whatever you have left unfulfilled come back again in the next life and finish them'. Gave her Holy Ganga Water. Did not know what else to say, I was helpless. She was about 7 years younger than me. I, myself, is a disabled person. Guest guest
Dear Babu, I am retired Army Officer from Corps of Engineers, Indian Army. I am new to this group. My condolences to the bereaved family of the departed soul. According to our Hindu custom, the Nakshatra [ the star] at the time demise is important for the funeral rituals. Normally, the ashes are taken out on 3rd or 5th or 7th day[according to convenience] from the funeral pyre[ called Sanchainam] and is kept in an earthen pot in the house of the departed and offerings are made everyday to departed soul till sixteenth day [Pulakuli] when the ashes are immersed in a running body of water. If you are able to take it to Haridwar or Triveni in Allahabad and immerse it in Ganges then the soul is supposed to have attained salvation. Otherwise it is the custom to make offerings[Called bali] annually during the Karkata month. Kindly note that this south indian custom being followed in Kerala. There would be variations in other parts of India. There is a Parasurama temple in Trivandrum where they do " thilohoma " for the departed soul, in case you could not do all the above things due to circumstances. Personally I feel one should let go of departed souls and let them be. Love and attachments should prevail when a person is alive. With kindest regards, Col. Guest guest
Dear Col. Chandran, Thank you very much for your kind Message. We have performed 'last rites' for her in the UK , according to the traditions of the western Gujarat. We did this yesterday, the 11th day of her passing. And some of us will visit India to immerse her ashes in the Ganga . I am still concerned. In her birth chart she had three planets, the RAHU, SATURN & The MOON in the 12 house with the Sagittarius ASCENDANT and her passing away chart have the similar planets. I do not know. As for any pujas that might be appropriate at this time I would leave that to other members more familiar with Hindu (last rights?) to advise you...I'm quite out of my depth in this regard, I'm afraid. Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com ___ - " Narendra " <naren.dra <jyotish-vidya > Friday, July 04, 2008 11:27 PM Soul of the Departed Dear Wendy, I am Babu. I am already the member of the group but for a long time I have not visited the site and have forgotten my ID and PASSWORD so have signed up again with the different name and the password. You might remember I was asking about my sister who had cancer. She passed away on the 25th of June 2008 Wednesday, in Leicester, at 5.45 pm, our UK BST Time. If there is anything to do on my part, if the chart says, we'll do it. I do not know who else to ask, so this request you. Thank you. Babu. Guest guest
Dear Babu, I would like to suggest the following book " WHAT BECOMES OF THE SOUL AFTER DEATH " written by a great soul, which is available free for the readers so far as the same is not used commercially or otherwise. It is a very good book. It is meant for everybody. I have gone through the book a number of times. Kindly go through once. You would know what is death? You would get some solace. It is available on this URL: http://www.dlshq.org/download/afterdeath.htm Regards, C.S. Ravindramani. PS: This is not an advertisement for the said organisation. I have no connection whatsoever with this organisation. This is just a reference for a member of this Group. jyotish-vidya , " Narendra " <naren.dra wrote: > > Dear Col. Guest guest
Dear Bhaskar, You are welcome:-)) Go through it slowly. There are enough hints available for an astrologer too in this book. Guest guest
Dear Ravindra ji Thanks a ton. If there was anything I wanted to read, since long, it is this.!! Yesterday night I had a strange dream. I was running, dont know why and about to board a train, when i noticed that there were two bags below the train. I tried to open one and it exploded, but the explosion was small. I woke up and i found that I was feeling something in my right ears. Did the mind make the dreams effect of pain (due to explosion) in ear a little real? And it set me off to think, if I had died then what would have happened. More discussions after the book is read. Guest guest
Dear Monica ji, By the way what is the need to know " What becomes of the soul after death " .If during the process of knowing we passed away then? Because in Kaliyug living time is uncertain. So we should do good karmas without having any zeal to know after.Dreams are to forget because they are only dreams. I have visited there and also done the Mritunjaya Japa in the ashram, and felt great peace and stength. Guest guest
Dear friends, I just posted the link. That is all. I remain grateful to my father who introduced the books of Swami Sivanandaji, in my life at the age of 10. It is because of reading those books of Swami Sivanandaji and Ramana Maharisi, I am here or other wise I would have been in other side of the fence because of my Saturn and Mars placed in my lagna and because of dasha sequence I got in my life. Mars is functional benefic in my case but I always remember, Mars and Saturn are, at the first place, malefics. They become functional benefics for my lagna because of their ownership. Sun represents father who influences my 9th house. He also becomes functional benefic in my case. Sun is not a malefic in the strictest sense. He is a " Kroor " planet. ( I cant find an English equivalent here) Hence he falls in the category of malefic. Astrology is not the end of life. But knowing " Who am I " is the real purpose of this life. This is my humble opinion. For those who are interested to know more about death, from a great soul, I quote the following from Maharishi Ramana. Quote: " I was sitting alone in a room on the first floor of my uncle's house. I seldom had any sickness and on that day there was nothing wrong with my health, but a sudden violent fear of death overtook me. There was nothing in my state of health to account for it nor was there any urge in me to find out whether there was any account for the fear. I just felt I was going to die and began thinking what to do about it. It did not occur to me to consult a doctor or any elders or friends. I felt I had to solve the problem myself then and there. The shock of the fear of death drove my mind inwards and I said to myself mentally, without actually framing the words: 'Now death has come; what does it mean? What is it that is dying? This body dies.' And at once I dramatised the occurrence of death. I lay with my limbs stretched out still as though rigor mortis has set in, and imitated a corpse so as to give greater reality to the enquiry. I held my breath and kept my lips tightly closed so that no sound could escape, and that neither the word 'I' nor any word could be uttered. 'Well then,' I said to myself, 'this body is dead. It will be carried stiff to the burning ground and there burn and reduced to ashes. But with the death of the body, am I dead? Is the body I? It is silent and inert, but I feel the full force of my personality and even the voice of I within me, apart from it. So I am the Spirit transcending the body. The body dies but the spirit transcending it cannot be touched by death. That means I am the deathless Spirit.' All this was not dull thought; it flashed through me vividly as living truths which I perceived directly almost without thought process. I was something real, the only real thing about my present state, and all the conscious activity connected with the body was centered on that I. From that moment onwards, the I or Self focused attention on itself by a powerful fascination. Fear of death vanished once and for all. The ego was lost in the flood of Self-awareness. Absorption in the Self continued unbroken from that time. Other thought might come and go like the various notes of music, but the I continued like the fundamental sruti [that which is heard] note which underlies and blends with all other notes. Even having a boat to cross the river is not going to be easy. That is gona be a one heck of a horrible time. They seem to use very much the things found on earth, even the name is same.! I wonder if with technology changes they will also upgrade their torture methods or if they have been the same since millions of years.!! :-) Someone somewhere sometime back described that, his familys pitra came down to describe the state of atmas in various regios. He said something like, lakhs of atmas tied to thick chains and being beaten and all shouting and crying. Much worse than Nazi camp seems like. I wonder why even gods and their managers have to use so much violence to cure violence and other defects. Apparently seems to be very un-godly. It is a very good book. It is meant for everybody. I have gone through the book a number of times. Kindly go through once. You would know what is death? You would get some solace. It is available on this URL: http://www.dlshq. org/download/ afterdeath. htm Regards, C.S. Ravindramani. PS: This is not an advertisement for the said organisation. Guest guest
Dear Narendraji , Though i do not advise anyone as per our Hindu religion dictums to disturb any soul which has passed away, but the website Link which I gave in my message today " The Laws of the Spirit world " , has a contact email id, where if one contacts , one may be able to pass and receive any Urgent message if one so wishes to communicate with his beloved one who has left him. I suppose here one has to give them black and white photographs of all the family members ( Without specs on )and they would then do the needful. Theother good option is to read the book I suggested " Autobiography of a Yogi " , enroll as a student, and learn the techniques given in the lessons, which would give you the powers to contact telephaticallyor physically with the passed ones, which is a sattvic way of contacting those beyond, through the eyes of a Yogi. I assure you that its not impossible, but very much possible, this way. Sorry again for disturbing you, but Your pain is there with me too. regards, Bhaskar. jyotish-vidya , " Narendra " <naren.dra wrote: > > Dear Ravindramani, > > Thank you very much for this. Guest guest
Bhai astrokinektji, Sorry for coming in . The Gita when it says like this, it talks about the soul - atma, in its original self, ie. without its coverings of the other Koshas. To give punishment or pleasure, a new body is given to the soul. This body does not die till it is made to suffer or bear the pleasures of heavens. Once this job is over then , back to the next stage in evolution of the soul. The soul just does not leave the body when one dies. It takes alongwith it the Vasnamaya Kosha which contains all the experiences the soul has undergone uptil that moment, along with the records of unfulfilled desires and rinabandhans, which await to be completed when its next given a new birth. What is burnt on Earth or cremated is the Annamaya Kosha or the human body, but the rest leave up with the soul. Unless and until the Ananadmaya kosha dissolves, the soul would not bear the features as mentioned in the Gita. regards, Bhaskar. jyotish-vidya , " astroiniket " <astroiniket wrote: > > dear monica- pls just give thought - in Geeta shree krishna says - Atma is forever - fire cant burn it, water, air, like that cant do any thing with atma(soul) so how is it possible to give this type of torture to soul. pls read this shloka in geeta then pls explore this. > > > rgds > niket > - > monica Astro > jyotish-vidya > Monday, July 07, 2008 6:26 PM > Re: Re: Soul of the Departed > > > Dear Ravindramani > > The discussions on that River with pus and waste and blood etc... > and various boiling oil pots and hot copper plates awaiting waiting eagerly for victims is a little horrible... pheww. > Even having a boat to cross the river is not going to be easy. > That is gona be a one heck of a horrible time. > > They seem to use very much the things found on earth, even the name is same.! > I wonder if with technology changes they will also upgrade their torture methods or if they have been the same since millions of years.!! > :-) > > Someone somewhere sometime back described that, his familys pitra came down to describe the state of atmas in various regios. > He said something like, lakhs of atmas tied to thick chains and being beaten and all shouting and crying. > Much worse than Nazi camp seems like. > > I wonder why even gods and their managers have to use so much violence to cure violence and other defects. > Apparently seems to be very un-godly. > > Regards > -m- > > > ravindramani <ravindramani > jyotish-vidya > Sunday, 6 July, 2008 10:30:43 PM > Re: Soul of the Departed > > Dear Babu, > > I would like to suggest the following book " WHAT BECOMES OF THE SOUL > AFTER DEATH " written by a great soul, which is available free for the > readers so far as the same is not used commercially or otherwise. > > It is a very good book. Guest guest
Dear Niket Just as we have body on earth and suffer even though we are made from the same atma. Same way, the atma has some body in different worlds which is given divine sweets or hellish torture as per work. The body remains till it does not merges into the self. But I am more in favour of God having better ways to create improvements, which is a little more illuminating than raw torture. Even then, who am I do debate this. At best, I shall remember to keep pain killers by my side. :-) Regards -m- astroiniket <astroiniket jyotish-vidya Monday, 7 July, 2008 8:21:09 PM Re: Re: Soul of the Departed dear monica- pls just give thought - in Geeta shree krishna says - Atma is forever - fire cant burn it, water, air, like that cant do any thing with atma(soul) so how is it possible to give this type of torture to soul. pls read this shloka in geeta then pls explore this. rgds niket - monica Astro jyotish-vidya Monday, July 07, 2008 6:26 PM Re: Re: Soul of the Departed Dear Ravindramani The discussions on that River with pus and waste and blood etc... and various boiling oil pots and hot copper plates awaiting waiting eagerly for victims is a little horrible... pheww.
