9th lord Mars is suffering combustion and would therefore benefit from

Red Coral. However we need to consider his effect on Mercury whom he

conjuncts. Mars is a temporary enemy of Mercury in your chart.

Mercury has 2nd (marakasthana) as his moolatrikona, would you really want

to strengthen this quality?

As 5th lord Jupiter is a good friend to lagna lord Sun his gem should not

be harmful. However consideration must be given to his lordship of 8th

You should judge Ketu through his dispositor (Mars) and nakshatra lord

(Jupiter) to understand his effects.

Mitigated = as in lessened (not erased). Parabdha karma, that portion of

sanchita karma that is to be experienced in this life, cannot be erased.

Also it's good to keep in mind that deep meditation and/or spiritual

practices will surely bear fruit in our future (kriyamana) karma.

i did study on my horoscope, and i found

1. " Ruby " because Sun as lord of lagna in Aries - exalted.

HERE I am confused:--

I feel ketu is also not bad, because Mars is having aspect on it and

May/June 2005 when i got my one of the best job- that period was also

ketu's period.

Venues is exalted and it is lord of 10th and 3rd house, I cant say if I

wear diamond will it help me or not.

some of starwalts sugested me you should wear Rahu's Gomedak gem also.

These are my view points, I hope you and other seniors will guide me.

Kindly keep in mind that i am *not* an astrologer and my know how is

shallow.

You have a good horoscope. Much better than average.

relation between lagna and 9th house.

5th and 11th.

Venus (disposited by jupiter) lord of 10th sits in 8th, so probably during

his antar dasha in jupiter dasha job got into trouble.

should come back as soon as dasha ends around sept 2008.

The strong 9th house focus will give you good rise if you pray to god.

More you are devoted and away from tamas stuff the better.

Pray to Shiv and Vishnu.

Ruby and Moonga can be worn.

Pokhraj is preferred over panna since now Jup Mahadasha is going on.

These 3 gems and deep prayers should improve finances and career.

I donot know you, but please check that you donot indulge in things which

are " not good " or " evilish " .

etc...

It was discussed in this group some days back that gemstones " increases

benefic " qualities and also " purifies " the effect of the planet concerned.

So Ruby should be helping in overcoming the suns overheating of mars?

Also sun is between Saturn on one side and Rahu on another.

Ruby couldbe helpful.

(i am most willing to hear and learn further on this above example of sun

and mars)

RedCoral should help as has been pointed out earlier.

YellowSapphire should help in keeping the above two ego full planets in

check and give more mental peace.

In read in some sample kundli of " actors " the association betwene 5th & 10th

or 5th and 11th.

In deepaks chart, 5th lord sits in 11th. Dramatic and acting skills will be

strong. (Pun intended.)

There seems to be some misunderstanding here. Mars is combust...burnt by

the rays of the Sun...and you want to increase the strength of Sun? By

strengthening Sun, Mars is not suddenly going to be un-combust.

Actually all three planets (SU, MA, ME) would be enclosed (kartari or

scissors yoga). When a house containing several planets is enclosed by

planets on either side (of that house) you can't just single out one

planet and ignore the rest. Enclosure by malefics is called papa kartari

yoga, enclosure by benefics is called shubha kartari yoga.

It is said that (only) the planets can form these scissors yoga's...not

the nodes Rahu and Ketu. This (also) points to the fallacy of the

much-touted karla-sarpa yoga popular with so many of today's internet

astrologers.

This is a beautiful example of the " see-saw effect " you need to watch

out for when strengthening one planet. Even if Mars were merely

conjunct or aspected by the sun, this would be a factor - but it is

triply so in the case of combustion.

Interesting tangental anecdote: In the west, my " birthstone " is ruby

(born in late july, thus considered a tropical sun-leo). But Mars is

very combust by the Sun for me. I always hated Rubies.

8 Degrees is a safe assumption, though many give different degree orbs

for different planets. The effect of combustion on mercury is not as

pronounced.

P.S. Sastri in his textbook of Hindu Astrology gives the degrees as:

Mars 17, Mercury 14, Jupiter 11, Venus 10, Saturn 15. Retrograde

Mercury is given 12 degrees and retrograde Venus 8 degrees.
