Interesting question, I have always wondered myself if relocation

astrology is a part of Jyotish or not as is the case in tropical

astrology.

Hope to learn something from this.

Cheers

Hi Shiva,

Yes, I think it's interesting as well. I know there's something called

Astrocartography but I haven't been able to find a whole lot of

information on it. By the way, if anyone here knows that this can't be

done just by looking at my chart, please let me know. And if you have

any info regarding where I could find something like this out, that

would be much appreciated too! Thank you very much. I look forward to

your replies!

Dear Nyree, Shiva and All,

Astrocartography or relocation astrology is a concept applicable to Western

astrology. In Vedic astrology the natal chart is imprinted at the time of

birth according to the place, date and time of birth...relocation does not

change this basic blueprint! Events of life reflect the natural (sequential)

changes as per Vimsottari dasa system, these do not change according to

location.

Relocation will occur only if it's indicated in the natal chart and we may

conclude the direction the native may relocate to by knowing the direction

ruled by the most influential planet at the time i.e:

Sun = east, Moon = north-west, Mars = south, Mercury = north, Jupiter =

north-east, Venus = south-east, Saturn = West, Rahu = south-west, Ketu =

south-west.

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Hi Wendy,

Thanks for the great info! It's actually quite a relief to hear that

relocation does not change the basic blueprint because I really need

this move. I'm pretty sure I'll be moving to the southwest at this time

even though I'd rather be in California any day of the week. I'm kind

of nervous now because that also means that rahu or ketu ( or both)

should be showing up as influential planets in my chart right now. I

thought things were supposed to be looking up in my life. Maybe it's

just me being a novice but I've come to associate rahu and ketu as a

sort of danger sign when I'm told about them in my chart. Please

enlighten and thanks again for replying!

Dear Nyree,

I did reply to your question earlier but it seems is having some

technical difficulties at the moment and (that) post hasn't yet come

through. If it hasn't appeared by the end of today I'll repost it.

Best Wishes,

Dear Nyree,

//I'm kind of nervous now because that also means that rahu or ketu ( or

both) should be showing up as influential planets in my chart right now.//

There is absolutely no need to ever be nervous of any Graha.

According to the Rishis, the Grahas, as the Lords of Karma, are responsible

for balancing all the actions of evolving beings that are not in accord with

the Divine Plan. It is said that OUT OF COMPASSION for the evolving jivas

drowning in the sea of their accumulated karma, Lord Vishnu gave the Grahas

the ability to transmute the karma of jivas who appealed to them for grace

through the practice of yajña (sacrifice). Lord Vishnu also created Jyotish

to provide a guiding light for the struggling jivas.

You are currently undergoing the bhukti/pratyantar dasas of Rahu in the

MahaDasa of Venus. For you, Rahu occupies Jupiter's sign (Sagittarius) and

is closely conjunct Jupiter in 2nd house of family and wealth. We've

discussed previously how Rahu is influenced by his dispositor and the

planets he conjoins etc.. Your Rahu is hemmed in between JU/ME both of which

are combust 10th lord Sun. To gain a greater understanding, you might like

to think about how this has manifested in your life so far i.e., influence

of father in family affairs, your position in life/status and so forth. How

your life is now and try to associate that with the planets that are

influencing your life at this point in time.

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Wow, Wendy. Thank you so much for this great information. I'm going to

have to read up on this on my own to fully grasp it I think. It does

make sense to me though, especially when you mentioned the influence of

father in family affairs. I'm only just now getting the courage to work

through this and realize that I deserve to have my own life and much

needed free time. Anyway, thanks again. The Bhukti/Pratyantar dasas of

Rahu in the MahaDasa of Venus. Looks like I've got a lot to learn but

atleast it's stuff I'm interested in! I'm glad I've found a place where

I can pop in and ask questions and actually get them answered too!

Best Wishes,
