Guest guest
Dear Balaji, I haven't got very far with your article...been one of those days, I'm afraid...phone hasn't stopped ringing etc, etc.. I have figured out, however, why we're getting different (lagna) degree. It seems I was using the wrong coordinates for Beijing. The coordinates I was using were 110E45, 35N13. Also the time I'm using is 15:01:36. I've now switched to 116E24, 39N56 and with the time of 15:01:36, Lagna is now 08:33:20 Capricorn. Hope to get further with this tomorrow. Guest guest
Wendy ji, ///I've now switched to 116E24, 39N56 and with the time of 15:01:36, Lagna is now 08:33:20 Capricorn./// Good! I am getting 8:25--and I guess this small difference won't make any difference. Please read when you are free and send me your comments. ~~~~~~~~~ Balaji Narasimhan Author & Editor http://www.balaji.ind.in/ ~~~~~~~~~
Guest guest
Wendy ji, ///Again, I'm finding it difficult to add my comments as I cannot cut/paste the sections I wish to comment on./// Sorry, but I have not been able to resolve this at all on my home PC! :-( ///In transit, SATURN and Venus were conjunct in 5th...this house, as we know, governs pleasures/enjoyment s such as sport and recreation./// I thought this was the 3rd? I just checked this at http://www.jyotishvidya.com/bhavas.htm ///But what China needed to win over the other competitors was the strength of 6th house/// Very true! The 6th rules enemies and the ability to convert obstacles into opportunities. ///In China's chart Mercury is in Own Sign/// Oops! Sorry for the blooper! But isn't Hasta the point of maximum exaltation for Budha? Wendy ji - one last questions - how much do you agree with what I have said in " Closing Thoughts " (page 9 of olympics.pdf)? ~~~~~~~~~ Balaji Narasimhan Author & Editor http://www.balaji.ind.in/ ~~~~~~~~~
Guest guest
Wendy ji, ///There are millions of avid sports fans who, although lacking the ability/prowess to excel in sports themselves, get tremendous enjoyment from following their favourite team, tennis player etc../// Ok. So, 3rd shows ability to *play* sports, and 5th shows ability to *enjoy* sports. Got that! :-) Of course, you know what Shaw said of cricket--if I may modify what he said, 12 people, desperately in need of rest play, while 12 million people, desperately in need of exercixe, lean back and watch it on TV! :-) ///China's reputation for cheating in sports (due to drugs) is well known. Note Rahu in 3rd with dispositor Jupiter in 12th. It will be interesting to see how these Olympics pan out in this regard.../// And worse still, 8th lord Surya aspects this house, along with Budha, who, though having Moolatrikona in the 9th, is all said and done the lord of the 6th too. Quite a few enhancement drugs are consumed orally--and here, neecha Kuja aspects the 2nd house. But Wendy ji - you still haven't answered my question--how much do you agree with what I have said in " Closing Thoughts " (page 9 of olympics.pdf)? ~~~~~~~~~ Balaji Narasimhan Author & Editor http://www.balaji.ind.in/ ~~~~~~~~~
Guest guest
Wendy ji, ///The dasa at commencement of Olympics will be SA-VE-MA-JU/// This is good, because Guru's other house is the 3rd house of sports - of course, Rahu there may spoil some things... ///Mars will then have moved out of his sign of debilitation and away from Ketu./// This too is positive--but one factor is that he will be with Sani. Of course, for Makara Lagna, Kuja isn't all that bad because moolatrikona falls in the 4th, and a malefic kendra lord is good--still, Kuja also owns a trishadya. Still, let us see! I hope everything works out for the best! :-) ~~~~~~~~~ Balaji Narasimhan Author & Editor http://www.balaji.ind.in/ ~~~~~~~~~
