Guest guest
Dear Kamal, In fact, I got exactly similar doubts myself when I sarted learning astrology. Your doubts are quite logical and understandable. What I have started of late is to consider a planet to be exalted or debilitated when it is within 15 degrees of the highest/deepest point irrespective of the Rasi the planet is in. This comes from the logic that the highest point of exaltation is exactly 180 degrees away from the deepest point of debilitation. I want to study the results and come to a conclusion later to check if my assumption is valid or not. I know that traditional astrologers may not agree with my assumption. But, I am trying to find answers in my own way. Guest guest
no if sun was near the exaltation degree of other planet it will have no benefic effect and if venus will be areound this degree as well it will ruin venus by combustion one principal I will share here is degree of ascend is important planet in same degree as ascend will gain some more strength benific or melific in lots of early or infancy death I have seen this that a melific is on same degree as ascend degree or degree of moon and jup or venus on same dgeree as ascend will be more protective - Krishnamurthy Seetharama<krishna_1998 jyotish-vidya <jyotish-vidya > Monday, April 16, 2007 2:02 AM Re: Exaltation of planets Dear Kamal, In fact, I got exactly similar doubts myself when I sarted learning astrology. Guest guest
Dear Kamal, //In my chart I have Venus is in Pisces 5 degree 11' and Sun is also in Pisces 25 degree Venus and Sun are about 22 and 15 degree away from deep exaltation point. Though with the rule of venus is in rashi where it is exalted but sun is not in. My question is that as Sun is closer to exaltaion point than Venus, does it make this also exalted.// Both Sun and Venus are approaching their degree of (highest) exaltation. Venus, escaping combustion, is in sign of exaltation whilst Sun is in sign of great friend. Alertness (awakening) increases as it approaches exaltation and diminishes accordingly as it approaches debilitation. In this way it's not too difficult to determine the degree of awakening (beneficial nature) of the planets. This becomes especially important when considering the effect of retrograde planets.
