In the last mentioned slokas he explains: bhat?sthanagato jivo darasthanagata? kuja?| Translation: The third house occupied by Jupiter, the seventh by Mars. tatha janmagato mando rahurnavamaras'iga?||34|| Translation: The lagna (janma can also mean nakshatra of lagna) by Saturn, the ninth by Rahu. candro'??amagriha? yata? suryo ri?phag?ha? gata?| Translation: Moon in the eighth house, Sun in the twelfth. budha? saptamabhavastho bhargava? s'atruras'iga?||35|| Translation: Mercury in the seventh, Venus in the sixth. ityeva? mara?asthana? tasmin papayute'thava| papad???e'rinicasthe durbale du?khamapnayat||36|| Translation: These are the marana-sthanas (houses of death - termed Marana 'karaka' sthana as they are not related to lordship but to the planet itself thus karakatva). When these are joined malefics, aspected by malefics, in enemy sign, debilitated or otherwise devoid of strength the person will see sorrow. *Marana karaka sthana gives suffering which can be described as death-like experience. This is because the house is completely opposite to significator of the bhava* bhargava? s'atruras'iga - Brghu (Shukra) is badly placed in sixth bhava because sixth bhava is house of celibacy and seperation while Shukra is Jala Tattwa and shows relationship, entaintariment, being with people, intimate relationship and marriage. This is completely opposite to sixth bhava where main karakas are Sani (sanyyasa) and Mangal (brahmacarya). 1) Maranakarakasthana planets need more affliction like poor deptadi avastha or some other bad yoga to cause deathlike suffering. 2) Areas of suffering are areas significated by bhavas lorded by those malefics 3) Especially when those bhavas are aspected by malefics. Then Sani will show fear and sorror, Rahu shocking experiences while Ketu headless one.While if bhava karaka bhava when MKS planet sits is in kona to Lagna then the suffering is lesser. 4) If dasa rasi comes to that sign then there are very sensitive times.
