But my analysis had more to do with the fact that Venus was transiting the Sun's nakshatra in Virgo, and Venus is debilitated there. Even if Venus and Mercury were benefic in this native's chart, you can see how a debilitated planet would harm the significations of another which it conjoins. In this case, transit Venus was conjunct natal Mars in Virgo and in this chart Mars is the significator for career, profession, etc. Best wishes, Rui.
